Re: KR Saber 34 released

Say, when was the last time a movie character then became worked into the series proper? I mean we sorta had that with Soreo making a small appearance near the end of Zero-One, but obviously this episode is a whole step up from that, with a movie-exclusive rider becoming a full-fledged character in ...

Re: Kiramager Episode FINAL released

It's funny how last year, I mostly enjoyed Ryusoulger for being as a by-the-books sentai as it gets, and then its endgame and final episode really impressed me by being really surprisingly novel in a lot of ways. In a complete reversal, Kiramager is a show I've enjoyed greatly especially for the man...

Re: KR Saber 18 released

I like a good, classic story of a Kamen Rider trying to save an innocent person-turned-monster while others are telling them to just cut the monster down. This episode is a decent example of just that, Touma going out of his way to save even one life. But... it's a bit harder to like when the episod...

Re: Poll: What's your opinion of Kiramager?

It may not be over yet, but I'm pretty confident in saying this is going to be my new #1 Sentai. From very early on, this show has had an infectiously vibrant feeling that has been more or less consistent through the entire show. All sorts of classic or tried-and-true plots and cliches are done but ...

Re: Kiramager Episode 37 released

The A-plot of the episode with Sena and Sayo was a fairly straightforward kind of sentai story with the usual moral, you shouldn't just push aside feelings like fear or worry because they can be good for you too. It's just... I really liked the big scene of the two talking it out in the water, but i...

Re: KR Saber 16 released

Honestly, I actually found myself buying the whole conflict between swordsmen a lot more than I was expecting. It's far from perfect, and maybe I'm just saying this because riders fighting each other is such an expected default that anything to better justify it seems exceptional, but I actually tho...

Re: Kiramager Episode 36 released

Do is Kurantula dead? I'd be sad if he is, because this is only what, his second time ever directly confronting the heroes? And I thought both times so far have been really fun! I don't personally think this quite tops Ryusoulger's Chirstmas episode, but it certainly has its own kind of... uniquene...

Re: KR Saber 15 released

So like two episodes ago, I said that most of Draconic Knight's debut felt too 'stock' for me to get emotionally into, even with as pretty as it was, and I kinda feel the same for the finale of this big arc? It's all very big and cool action, but somehow not nearly as fun as episode 14, probably bec...

Re: Kiramager Episode 35 released

Fantastic episode in my book. There's not a single second that went by where I wasn't either really amused or laughing out loud. The running gag of Mabushiina learning something was her fault followed by a flashback, Yodonna's quest for ice-cream, everything about how they finish off the golf monste...

Re: KR Saber 14 released

I'm kinda tempted to say this was my favourite episode so far, though the fact that it is one just big fight might have helped. This is the first time in the show where I think I see the appeal of having so many characters, with Buster, Kenzan and Slash fighting the three generals as a nice way to f...

Re: Kiramager Episode 34 released

I actually thought the way the fight ended was basically perfect. It connected the two ongoing plots in the episode, and was a logical explaination for Garuza to leave the fight without undermining his new power.

Re: TV-Nihon Member Kamen Rider Questionnaire

Why not, sounds fun to think about. I started watching Rider when I was a little, the first one I ever laid eyes on was a dubbed version of Ryuki back in 2002/03. As for when I started following weekly releases, it's hard to say for me, since there was a lot of me dipping in and out of shows like Ga...

Re: KR Saber 13 released

Well, I liked this second death scene (still funny whenever I can type that) partly because the whole group is here for it, and partly because I think the sentiment here is better (him disappearing and trusting everyone else to keep up the good fight without him, vs the previous one where he express...

Re: KR Saber 13 released

All the stuff in this episode is all really stock to me, unfortunately. I'm sure a big part of it is that I've been watching these kinds of shows for a decade now, but everything in this episode to me just feels like it was going through the expected motions and I wasn't even all that excited for th...

Re: Poll: What do you think of Saber?

It's fine. It's just an alright show overall for me. Honestly, if you yourself are not enjoying the act of translating it, I think that's a bigger reason to reconsider allocating your time to doing so? This is suppose to be a passion hobby of sorts after all, so I'd hate to think you're just grittin...
