The picture transmitted is 1440x1080 Just curious, do you have any sources on this? This is the first I've heard of this, and I can't find anything stating that ISDB is anamorphic...

The HD broadcasts being 1080i is not a problem, as you can easily reconstruct the 1080p frames when encoding. Heck, even interlaced material is stored as progressive frames in mpeg2. The mechas are pretty impressive. The mecha battles themselves, not so much. It really says something when the best mecha battle that used those suits was filmed by Saban.

However, the human-scale battles are amazing.

Also, Syber Squad was made by DIC, not Saban.

I like Time Force (especially Vernon Wells), but it's just missing something compared to In Space, Lost Galaxy and Lightspeed Rescue. Wild Force was mostly dull. I grew up with Power Rangers, and still like it. I find PR is at its best when it isn't adapting Sentai, but just uses the fight footage with new plots.
