I didn’t plan to get a PS5 on launch, but when I learnt back compatibility seems super high (yet I’m still worried it won’t be « good » back compat ») I sold my PS4 Pro. The cost to move to PS5 is kinda low than way. But I’m a digital edition guy.

Thanks for the files. Although it was not MegaRanger, the comparison is clear : the sound is the same for both the mono files, and sound way more bright and spacialized with the stereo one !

So the problem is with normalization or encoding bandwidth. Any chance you could try an encode without normalization to see if the sound gains it’s original relief back? That’s logical (Spock, are you there ?!) : joint stereo only encode differences in L&R channels, so you’ll have the same size at the same bitrate, and half at half bitrate. I don’t know why the episodes went from 19mins to 24mins, that’s why you have about 18,2MB instead of about 22MB. I looked ...
