I have to admit that I confused Mushiking with Moriking which is a Shounen Jump manga series a few years ago. It wouldn't surprised me if Moriking was inspired by Mushiking.

I find it odd that the planet quintet isn't a straight. They go 1, 2, 5, 6, and 8. Also Mars should have been 4 and Jupiter should have been 5 to match the placement of the solar system.

I think why Jou doesn't wear his police uniform at the Boonboomger HQ is because he's not on duty as a police officer. I do wish he has some better civilian clothes as he looks like he's going to a swamp.
