I wonder if Goemon would work with the base form (it should, right?). That said, the red and green-yellow combination was bad for the eyes. Also, what's the silvery rope at the back of Goemon?

The kanji 獣 means "beast" and has the romanization jyu/zyu. I don't think it had anything to do with dinosaurs 恐竜 (kyouryuu)

Hmmm.… why did TV-N choose Zyuranger and not Jyuranger then?

Also, why use -ger when the pronunciation is -jaa? The more recent series don't use -ranger anymore, so maybe -ger can be dropped for -jaa?
