Re: Frequently asked questions
Got a potentially interesting situation here in Australia with talk about reforming IP based laws and was hoping to get some kind of insurance in terms of downloading subs from here.
Please don't take the following as trolling but rather be trying to preemptively cover myself in terms of potentially dealing with both moronic set of bureaucrats and a moronic government.
I've casually heard that Toei liases with TV-Nihon and is more than happy for people to download fansubs and for TV-Nihon to both fansub and upload them. Yet I cannot seem to find anything online confirming that.
Is there anything you can point me in the direction of in the form of a link that I can keep on hand as an insurance policy should I be on the receiving end of bureaucratic incompetence, to be able to prove that any and all fansubs I download from here are completely legit and with the express permission of Toei et al?
Sorry for being a pain here - just trying to avoid a potential mountain of it if the government gets its way here.

Re: Frequently asked questions
No you didn't misread that. This is the potential situation those of use here in Australia are facing.
Now if this goes the way I fear it might, where I'm accused of piracy for "3 strikes" of say, downloading 3 upcoming episodes of ToQGer, is there anything I can point to as a defence which makes it clear in no uncertain terms that TV-Nihon and the subs here exist with the complete blessing of Toei et al?

Re: Frequently asked questions
we have no blessing of anyone, we have never had any contact with toei, what we do is probably considered illegal anywhere in the world, there is no defence for what is essentially stealing episodes and distributing them for free

Re: Frequently asked questions
I doubt they would go after you unless you pirate the latest mega-hit blockbuster. Also the amount of times I seen "the end of days" and didn't happened is more time than not.

Re: Frequently asked questions
Yeah, what we've been doing has always been illegal. So no assurances here.
Just the fact that Australia probably won't care that you're downloading copyrighted material from Japan. The last copyright scare was in 2009 when some third party cyber team was sending e-mails on behalf of other companies. But realistically, why would a company in Japan care about people in other countries watching their shows, when they receive zero monetization for those shows from those countries?
Plus, in the 11 years of doing this, I've never heard of anyone getting in serious trouble for downloading our work. So as in anything else in life, weigh in the risks and decide whether it's personally worth it for you to be doing these things against the potential costs.

How long does it usually take you to do Toku movies and crossovers?

If you're asking about the wizard movie, it's in typesetting right now. Then maybe a week or two for qc before it's distro ready

Re: Frequently asked questions
Hi, I've got a problem with the videos I downloaded, not exactly sure what it is. I downloaded various episodes of Kamen Rider and Garo, then copied them onto an external hard drive. Well, now that hard drive is running out of room, so I copied the videos onto my computer [plenty of room, and if anything happens to the videos, I can just replace them from here], but now I can't delete the file folder containing the videos on my external hard drive.
I try and delete it, and I get this;
This mean anything to you guys? Wondering if this has happened to someone else around here?

Re: Frequently asked questions
Have you tried turning it on and off again?
Seriously though, that should fix the problem. It's just a simple read error.

Re: Frequently asked questions
I've had some problems deleting folders from an external drive. I never figured out how to fix it.
I think that I've even transferred the folders and files to a new drive and had the same issue. No clue.

You mean the external hard drive? Can't turn it off, no buttons. But I did try and unplug it, didn't do anything.Lunagel wrote:Have you tried turning it on and off again?

Probably what you said though, just have to find a programming solution, hopefully without breaking my computer!
