Do I need Orphenoch DNA to QC?
Do I need Orphenoch DNA to QC?
Hello,
As I mentioned in my GMC post, http://www.claws.us/forums/viewtopic.php?t=55 I am more than willing to help out. Is there a process to do QC, or are you looking for people to report errors they discover playing the videos? Does this also cover spelling and translation errors? Will I require an injection from Smart Brain?
Hope I can help.
Matt

This forum is actually only for translation errors and similar. There used to be rules here but they got wiped with the forum problems, so you're excused.
As stated by multiple people in the video playback forum, if it doesn't work on your player you're out of luck. There's workarounds you can do on your end without having to re-encode and re-seed several dozen gigabites of video for the benefit of a very small portion of the viewers. Get with the program.

Thanks.. I'll keep an eye out for errors. If you can post some rules, that would help.
As far as the encoding problem, I have made a decision (read towards the end of the thread), so I am with the program.

This is my favorite part. XD
These are really just quick decisions, and a more formalized set will be up eventually, but for now we have this: http://www.claws.us/forums/viewtopic.php?p=892#892

I’m the one nightmares are afraid of.
Simple but effective
Thanks. They are pretty easy to follow, except for #3. There seem to be a few out there in the forums.

Basically we have people on our irc channel take a look at a release before we release it. If there are errors (spelling, typesetting and/or pretty much everything else) we then do a re-encode. Sometimes 2 or 3 re-encodes and still have errors (eg.. Cutie Honey ep1 Arhhhhhhhh). Generally the people that look at them are in distro but iwe can always use more people. Unfortunately due to the time issues we do need the person on irc in our channel.dvdvision wrote:Hello,

Well when viewing fansubs do realize that it's just that...subbed by fans, there will bound to be translation errors, be grateful that you get to understand the bulk of what's going on. One or two translation error isn't too big of a deal to me. I've been watching Kamen Rider Hibiki and I've found a few translation "errors"(I don't know Japanese, but I do know Chinese and I would have translated those errors in a different way) but it's not really a big deal as long as the bulk of the series is understandable. Do realize that these are human beings doing translations.
EDIT: btw, I was wondering, do you guys rerelease things once it's been released due translation errors?

Well let me use my above example for Hibiki.
Asumu's mother said :"What is the rush?" It should have been "What is it all of the sudden?"
Shuki said :"Once I taught Zanki" It should have been "I once taught Zanki"
I really don't think small errors like those merit rerelease. Name consistency and spelling errors are no big deal if you ask me. Unless the episode is choke full of errors like those HK subs
