The Next - takenoko's cut
I'm going to do a strange thing here.
The idea of truly tampering with an art form in general goes against the basic principles in fansubbing. Translators are supposed to translate, not make up stuff (this is why dubtitles and chop jobs are so rightfully despised).
A couple of years ago I had contemplated releasing an edited version of The First where it was not obvious that the kids in the hospital became Shockers until the very end. Unfortunately the scenes weren't separate enough that I was able to rearrange them, so I gave up on the idea.
I really like The Next, but I agree with many people that there were some aspects of it that simply detract from the quality portions. So I went through and kind of eliminated them and rearranged some stuff to cover my tracks. (Hopefully this version makes more sense)
Unfortunately some of the scene transitions are a little rough, but overall I'm pleased with how this version came out.

Probably i'm gonna like this more then the real movie. Maybe it's just that i've watched too many j-horror in the past years. Bah.

I'm not the kind of person that gives straight answers. I'd prefer it if people watched it and tried to figure out what changes I made. Also, this is not a place to be bragging about rawsalsa wrote:whats the difference between this cut and another one
Edit: Also it wasn't really a secret. I did it last night in response to people's negative response. Those of you awake at the time might have noticed that there was a version 1 that got pulled super quick

Ah well, I'll find out after watching takenoko's version.

I'm looking forward to this - there's something about the pace of this movie that just seems off for some reason, like the director was trying just a bit too hard.
