Re: Shin Kamen Rider
it would've been interesting to see a tv series be adapted from this, cause it's got some elements that pop up in later series. The opening reminds me of Kuuga, while Shin seems like a proto Gills.

Re: Shin Kamen Rider
I'm about fifteen minutes in. How the heck did we go from this bloody, gory Kamen Rider to the kidss show we have today, lol. This is crazy-different. I've always wondered where this Kamen Rider came from in other movies. So this was a movie Rider-only.

I'm guessing Toei knew they couldn't run this in the theaters, because it was released straight to video cassette. I couldn't imagine the bad PR that would occur if parents brought their kids to the theaters to see this.

I think naked breasts would be the minor thing compared to the gross transformation scenes in the movie. That probably would be a source of nightmares for kids.

Surely it would have been rated to restrict kids? Unless there is something I don't know about the Japanese rating systems. It was made for adults.

Re: Shin Kamen Rider
Unless I'm missing something, I don't see any warnings on the cover. It was 1992 Japan, wasn't it only in the late 80s that America itself developed a rating system?
I mean, it's Japan. Nudity's not as big a deal with them. Remember that we see butts in W for instance.
