yea i know, i was joking. :D so, the only way of seeing takimoto in action again would be a flashback episode. and that's ONLY IF they decided to make one..

hmmf. i guess some people are best left dead..

Amen to you. I remember watching Grave of the fireflies and this episode atleast made some nostalgia. Though Japan conquered our country (Philippines) during WWII, I realized that one way or another we've been all victims of war. Taking nationalities aside, this plot tackles about love as a universal thing whatever country or affiliation you belong with. Even if you are used to hearing war stories, the point of listening to them is to learn from the effects of it. In a way, its a subtle education for us and for the Japanese audience that waging is not a good idea.

Spoiler
I first thought, that the Ootaki-Amishima conversations were manifestations of EVP (Electronic voice phenomena).

@monritche-dono - KABAYAN! Astig answer =3

made me wonder about Nana's character here - does that mean that <3 <3 Nana Akiyama's role is Keita's classmate? so would that mean we will see her again in Keita's school and classes? =P

for reference purposes - I highly recommend Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo - both live action and anime movies as this particular episode reminded of the movies so much. The anime, even if it's 2D - depicts great human emotions that it has the same great feel like this Keitai episode. That goes also of course of the more than 2 decade old live action movie. even if the theme is manipulation of time, human feelings are mostly tackled (which Timeranger, in my honest opinion, also falls for that)

Ditto, astounding how good it was. It's so short, yet so profound and so well acted. Just....wow.

...I'm even more tempted to bid on the 30,000 yen set of 01 and Seven dummy phones from SoftBank now.....heh

Watching the screen of ship getting closer and closer give me goosebumps. Remind me of one of 9/11 movies.

Forgive me for lack of knowledge with Japan's history. WW2 was the last war Japan was involved in, right? Due to the treaty that not allowing Japan to have an army anymore or something. So that ep must be referring to WW2 era, that I am just guessing.

Regardless, I do think this ep is awesome. Didn't realize that he named his first son after Keitai. That's neat.

Because I guess in the end, his life and those on that ship was saved. That's cool.

I am wondering why Keitai and 07 remembered the event while rest of other didn't. But I am not going to think too hard about it, since it's one of those time travel plot where questions bring more trouble than solutions.

Time paradox. If Keita didn't talk with the guy, he never would have changed his mind and the timeline never would have changed. Everyone else just conformed to the new timeline where the guy was alive the whole time

Paradox, "Shmeradox". I want my Takimoto!

Seriously, having him come back that way could make an interesting story for a later episode. Namely, a flashback where he tries to convince Anchor that he is one of them by telling of his and Seven's adventures. Of course no one believes him, so Keita steals Seven to undo what he undid and nobody remembers anything in the end but him and Seven.

Great stuff!

I don't really like the idea of adding so much focus on time travel. It would detract from Keita and Seven's growing partnership. There are other ways to bring Takimoto back without using flashbacks. I don't want to ramble on with my own speculations but having Takimoto in the opening leaves room for a big plot twist that will directly affect the main storyline.

Personally, I've been guessing faked death for some time now, doubly so since the new opening still has him in the case line up.

Yeah.

Anchor could be keeping Takimoto hidden so that he can gather information on 01 and Magira Kurando.

Hiding Takimoto from the world by pretending he was dead could also be just what is needed to drive Keita over to Magira's side. Sounds like a good story to me, as long as they don't use too much cliched dialog.

Before I talk about the episode, I randomly decided last week to start watching this show. To keep things short and simple, every episode has been addicting so far, and I'm glad that you guys always come out with stellar choices for your shows, as well as the excellent translation and typesetting.

Having said that:

Wow. This episode was such a breath of fresh air. My eyes started tearing up when Seiichi realized who Keita was. I had no idea that they were going into this sort of direction for this episode, and I didn't know what to expect. This show gets so much better every single episode.

Like.. just how cool was that! Really!

Poor Ketia, he broke the Temporal Prime Directive.

Now a Timeship from the 29th Century will show up and kill him to preserve the Timeline.........................

Whoa. I thought the whole 'talk to the past' thing was gonna kill this episode... but dang, it made me love this one above the rest. I really didn't expect this one to be so good, to be honest. In the end though, it's definitely one of the most moving things I've seen in quite some time.

I was quite literally in tears at the end, when Seiichi reacted to Keita's name being said. The fact that you could literally feel the emotion of how grateful he was of Keita's words to his past self, was just so moving. It captured the feeling like few other shows have.

If this show is this good, this early... I'm really glad I'm watching it.

God, thank you guys for subbing this.

(sorry for semi-rambling)
