Power/Rangers Fan Film
This isnt strictly PR or Americanized stuff, its just pretty bad ass
So this popped up as a trending topic on a site, https://vimeo.com/120401488
Didnt know about it, but mentioned katee sackhoff, so decided to watch it
Dam, it is full of win!
The post apocalyptic setting based on the Machine Empire winning is pretty cool
The re-imagining of the Rangers in the future is pretty cool, and the little twist at the end was cool
If they made a full film of this style, it would probably go down really well, it does leave me saying "more is needed"

Really nice. Enjoyed this a lot. Especially the Bulk and Skull appearance.

This was pretty epic. The vimeo was taken down, but it's on YouTube titled as "Power/Rangers".

The only thing I didn't get, who was the character Van Der Beek was playing supposed to be? All the others had some direct counterpart to the original series.

I was curious too - from Kimberly's comments I wondered if he was supposed to be Billy? Although I read somewhere that someone said he was Rocky.Catastrophe wrote:The only thing I didn't get, who was the character Van Der Beek was playing supposed to be? Re: Power/Rangers Fan Film
That was fun. The effect used for the Korean speak was neat. Always love seeing stuff done stylistically like that.
The only thing that I didn't really care for were the suits, but I guess that can't be helped for a fan film.

Re: Power/Rangers Fan Film
I'm seeing more and more films use stylized subtitles for dialog, its quite nice to see it in big productions
The suits were a bit "eh" but I guess for time and everything it wasn't possible to get proper suits done, the effect done for the dragon shield on Green was pretty good
I do find it amusing that Saban are trying to get this film banned from streaming sites given the sudden popularity of the video and media attention it has gained, I bet if they left it alone it wouldn't have become as big as it did

Re: Power/Rangers Fan Film
Saban himself is notorious for pulling that kind of stuff though. It's not like anyone was making money off this (I think), so I don't understand what the big deal is.

The guy who made it said he released it not to make money or receive money from it, he did it for the fun, check out his reasons video on his youtube channel, its pretty amusing as well

Yeah, it's an obvious parody. I can't believe they'd try to have it taken down.

Re: Power/Rangers Fan Film
Saban is probably just pissed that some fan made something that's better than whatever PR movie is trying to create will ever be. It was a neat 14 minutes.
The credits definitely say that James Van Der Beek was Rocky.
