'A Silent Voice' animation movie

Post by Silentwolfdog »

Anyone excited for upcoming movie based off manga?

If I recall correctly, it might be the first official animation movie to have one of main characters being deaf and have sign language (Japanese sign language) which is huge deal in itself. Always wondered what sign language would look like animated especially in anime style. I have seen Disney drawing sign language before for one or two ep of Disney TV shows, and even one ep of Smurf's but it was kinda cheaply done lol.

Would be cool if they actually decided to give it subtitles for deaf Japanese folks in theaters in Japan, maybe a limited theater release or something.

Anyhow, more information for those who don't know it. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/20 ... ed/.100828

I read the manga version and enjoyed it even though it's not my type of genre.

Update: A bit more information on how they deal with voice acting for deaf character and adding subtitles for deaf/hoh viewers. Kinda neat.
