But only here in the UK, looks like USA is getting a bum deal again

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Battle-Royale-D ... 417&sr=8-2

New licensing company, a new remaster of the film, a new limited edition version of the packaging.

So we get both versions of the film in packaging plus some other fancy stuff in the box, and all for a pretty dam good price for a Blu-Ray release of this calibre

I've already got my pre-order in for this and will be looking forward to it, I do even have the special tin editions of the Movies so this will make a nice addition to the collection, I just hope they release the 2nd film on Blu-Ray as well.

I don't think it's that hard to import it from England. No big deal

its not hard, just a pain the ass really,

and with them having to increase production to meet demand is amusing, guess they werent expecting such a big demand for this film.

Maybe it's time to invest in a Sony Playstation 3 Blu-ray player. It can stream Netflix and work as a wifi connector for PSP games.

forgot to post earlier, but I got my set delivered a few weeks ago

and what a set it is,

The box is pretty dam nice

Each disk comes in its own inside case with its own special artwork created just for this set
The book about the movie is a very interesting read, learnt several things about the film that I didnt know before, never knew that the Japanese government tried to ban the books and film on several occasions,
The special comic created just for this set is also stunning, havent read it yet, but looks awesome
Postcard style prints of some iconic scences from the film is a nice touch,
They also provided a booklet of concept artwork they came up with while working on creating this box set
The reversible poster featuring the original artwork of the DVD and a special creation for the set is great, it will probably stay in the box,

I have to say Arrow Media (new licence holders) have done a stunning job on this box set, they have given the fans of the film something really special, cant wait to watch both edits of the film in stunning HD format.

I also hope they do the 2nd film in the same way.

If people want some pics of whats included, ill take some and upload them for ya.

It's literally just been announced that both Battle Royale 1 and 2 will be released in the US on Blu-Ray and DVD by Anchor Bay. Both versions of the set will be 4 discs, but the Blu-Ray set will have 3 Blu-Ray discs and one DVD disc.

Here's the link to the article: http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/16 ... us-blu-ray

I dont see any mention of the 2nd being released in that link, just a mention that its a sacred cinematic classic

Sounds like a tamed down version of what we got over here

They have this at walmart btw and also the dvd version comes with cooler extras imo. It comes with a class roster scrapbook with each of their names, pictures, and info about them which is way cooler than the extra's of the blu ray version. Which is nothing aside from the two films and previously mentioned extras on disc
