There's some things in life you dont get your hopes up for, cause you know it'll never happen and you'll only let yourself down. More Red Dwarf was one of mine... and then they announced a new season. Just watched episode one and loved it... I am a happy smeghead.

Re: Red Dwarf is back! (Again) (Season 10)
I just finished the episode and man, that was great. I'm glad they did Back to Earth, but honestly, that wasn't what I wanted out of Red Dwarf.
This is what I wanted out of Red Dwarf. (Plus, do they look younger than they did in Back to Earth?) It started kind of slowly, but the payoff with the moose was one of the highlights of the episode.
The resentment faces were weird though. Great start.
Considering season 8 was in 1999, it's been 13 years. Oh yeah, I guess the Go-Busters also had to wait 13 years for their thing. The last time I really watched the series on TV, I was in college and it was on the channel 54 public TV station. It's been a long time.

Yeah, I enjoyed Back to Earth, but not as much as Seasons 1-6 and 8. It went too far into being more of a drama than a sitcom. But this, this was a return to classic form for Red Dwarf. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

Well, it too started to go into the drama territory, especially with episodes like Tikka to Ride, and Ouroboros.
EDIT 10/11: Just saw the next episode "Fathers and Sons." I enjoyed it.

I liked the taped argument Lister had with himself. It made me think of the Doctor Who episode "Blink"

Re: Red Dwarf is back! (Again) (Season 10)
So, is this some sort of good stuff worth to watch or..?
Just asking, it's kinda weird to see non-japanese stuff on the front page.
The last sci-fi stuff series I tried were...well...uh. Let's say that there's better scripts and acting in superheroes shows for kids.
I never even knew this show existed before (it aired from 1988 to 1999 but never made it big outside of UK, it seems), but I also see that it's supposed to be "demential" and "funny".
Maybe I'll check this out

Red Dwarf is abit of a cult classic that has quite a big following both in the UK and in other countries
Its worth watching, just to see how it has evolved over the years and how much lack of continuity it loves to have between seasons

Oh yes, if you're geeky enough to come to our site, you will love Red Dwarf. It's great stuff, and they're definitely back in top form this season.

Picked up the 20th Anniversary Edition of the first 8 series since ive always wanted it, its also a collectors item since it only had a limited run, took pictures so you can see what its like, also dropped here since we dont really have any other place to drop it,
also for those in the UK, the Blu-Ray for series X is up for pre-order, cheapest so far is Sainsburys Entertainment

Got this for myself as an early birthday present. Pretty good deal for 8 seasons, I think. I'm American so I have to go with the region 1 version anyway.
Most seasons come with one disc and one bonus disc. Seasons 7-8 come with two discs since they're 8 episodes each, I believe. I've always wanted to watch all of Red Dwarf (at least since I was in college and catching them when the public stations brought them over) so this is pretty great for me.
Looks like there's a lot of bonus footage. The back of the box promises Easter eggs. Looking forward to checking out this set.

Season 5
So I'm powering through the series (pretty easy at 6 episodes a season) when I get to season 5. It was weird, for some reason they had this really long intro apologizing for it and stuff. Then I realize that they switched the labels on the bonus disc and the episode disc.
It's funny, if you look at the Amazon reviews, one of the big problems they had early on was having the totally wrong show on season 6. Kind of seems like whoever brought over Red Dwarf for the states is kind of flaky.

So, I hope the show did well enough that they'll commission a Red Dwarf XI.
