I watched the last couple of seasons of Buffy, I really liked the series. I randomly watch the Angel series on TNT whenever I have a irregualr sleeping schedule.

I never watched Angel when it was on. I thought he was boring, and Buffy (character and show) was way better. About last year, I downloaded the whole series of Angel and I'm glad I did. The same with the Fray comics. I had to realize it was all in the Buffyverse and written by Joss Whedon, so the humor and writing would always be there. I'll never like Angel as much as I like Buffy, but it's nice to see the crossovers and how the other character's lives continue (Cordelia, Faith, Spike, Wesley).

If you're bored I'd say watch the first season. You'll either be hooked or you won't.

To me, seasons 1-3 and 7 were the best.

Oh, i really liked Angel, too, first just for more Charisma Carpenter, but then i really liked how the story grew and diverged from Buffy. Poor Fred. :(

I'd have to agree that Seasons 1-3 were the best. Everyone hates Riley, thus Season 4. No one likes Season 5 because of Dawn. Though I liked Glory. Season 6 was good with the musical episode, and
Spoiler
Tara's Death (I liked her, but plot wise it was good)
. Season 7 had a thing about wrapping things up and bringing the show back to the feel of the first seasons.

The new comics are pretty good. And the Angel comics, like the show, don't compete but they're not bad.

Yup. I got all DVD of Angel, and have a couple of Buffy. Planning to get all of Buffy someday. My sister is a HUGE Buffy fan.

This is why whenever I go to comic store, I also get Buffy season 8 issue for her since she don't normally read comic book and didn't want to go to comic book store just for it.

My favorite ep are "The Wish" and "Hush".

Reasons why I liked those are because...spoiler if you haven't seen those ep yet.
Spoiler
Love the way Buffy died (and bunch of other heroes) in "The Wish" (especially in slow motion) Also that there's barely any CC in "Hush" because almost all sounds (both background and spoken) were removed! That they had to communicate either by writing or gesture.

Too bad shows like Buffy or Garo are very rare, you will have to wait a long time before writers come up with new show that involves theme and elements like those.

Thankfully, they came up with "Supernatural" last year. It's one of very few American shows that I still watch.

Man...I knew I should have watch TSCC, but I always seem to forget that show existed.

It's really that good? Not just one of those thing that was overhyped?

I enjoyed it, and I don't really care for anything much on tv anymore.

After Buffy/Angel ended, I found Stargate, which I've really enjoyed, too.

(and of course Firefly)

Well, I liked Tru Calling.

I haven't really watched Firefly, but I have watched Serenity, and I liked it.

I prefer Angel to Buffy. Buffy has a very nebulous goal; "Hit evil things until dead." Angel's is more concrete; "Do good stuff, become human again."

Plus, Angel used to be a bad guy, and could always become one again. It's a nice razor's edge of his character; can't ever become too happy with his life or it all goes away.

That being said, the fourth season of Angel was a hilarious, hilarious joke. Whedon sure made me laugh with that one! Ha ha! It was nearly as good of a joke as the sixth and seventh seasons of Buffy!

Angel is more self-centered. Buffy saves the world because only she can. Mind you neither have to, but Buffy is a heroine because she risks her life. Angel is trying to "become a better person".

Season 6 of Buffy was kinda down there, I'll grant you, but season 7 brought things to a nice end. My only gripe is Spike being in season 7, but atleast he went out in flames.

Ah, but there's the rub. Was it really Buffy's choice to fight evil in the name of truth, little puppies, and Christmas? Or was it her fate to fight because she's a Slayer? ... Well okay sure they explained away that part after she ran off then came back because she couldn't stand just letting things be like they were but still... Oh never mind.
