Supergirl

Post by takenoko »

Is anyone else watching this?

I'm really liking it. I was worried it'd be more teen drama stuff, but the relationships are pretty good. I like Cat's way of being Kara's mentor/mom, which is funny since it seems like all the characters have mother issues.

I think it's funny how Winn is such a Jimmy Olsen.

The music is pretty nice too.

I do watch it. I liked the Smallville's version of Supergirl after all. At first, it seemed an over-feminist show in the pilot, but that aspect seem to have disappeared after the pilot. Or maybe I was just overreacting.

Toyman is now a good guy and Jimmy Olsen is physically the total opposite of what he was known for (you cannot become taller with confidence and workout), but I like them. Cat Grant even got to know who really is Supergirl and the big bad is not General Zod (again, like it was believed at the beginning of the pilot), but Kara's aunt, and it seem it's because of her husband.

I saw Martian Manhunter coming since episode 2 where Hank show his red eyes. I only know him as a shape-shifter with red eyes.

For now, I'm not disappointed.

I don't mind that the stories tend to focus on the females in the show. With a title like Supergirl, I think it tends to work better that way.

I haven't seen the reveal about the Martian Manhunter yet, but my coworker told me about it. My fault for being behind.

As I said, I had that feeling only in the pilot.
