TV-Japan on Verizon

Apparently because of the quake, verizon is letting people call Japan for free and one of the Japanese tv stations is free (limited time of course). Channel 1770 (At least here in Maryland), TV-Japan. Which I suspect is just NHK cause it shows stuff like NHK News 7.
I can't understand Japanese but I figured some people would think its neat. Even though its just news all the time right now.
Anything entertaining come on NHK? I don't know what shows come on what TV stations.
