anyone else gonna miss jan
gekiranger was the first sentai i watched straight though and from the moment i saw jan drop from that tree onto the panda i liked the character. i liked his little personal language he had as well as the way he acted like a kid most times. i watched him go from a person nieve about his past and power into a great master who had lost too much. the way he would explode whenever he got really pissed was awsome. now that geki is over and it's on to go-onger i gotta say i'm gonna miss him as well as rio and mele and i can wait to see them all one last time in geki versus bouken when it get's subbed. anyone else gonna miss jan.
Anyone remember when the news didn't want to make you punch the nearest thing to you, me neither.

No. I'm so glad that this year's Red Ranger acts more maturely, and as though he has a brain. I know the sentai shows are for children, but give me a break.

How? Besides there's usually a character or two to provide comedy relief (Hanto, Ren and Saki in Go-Onger's case). I think the constant foolishness and immaturity is ridiculous when used all the freakin' time.

Re: anyone else gonna miss jan
I am most certainly missing Jan. As this was my first full sentai, I may be bias in my thinking but he was a refreshing character. He had the type of happiness that was infectious and made you feel happy and energetic after watching. He was also a great break from the monotony of my life which is high school where everyone keeps their feelings to themselves and everyday feels like you've done it already.

I really never like Jan but then again, I don't usually like the red rangers though. I won't missed him but I will miss Mele.

I will miss Jan, a very lovable character; a refreshing change from the more traditional red ranger roles

And an almost 180 degree change from Akashi of Boukenger fame. Seriously, could those two be any more different?

Re: anyone else gonna miss jan
tssh, that red loser? I don;t see why Rio-sama was so consumed with fighting him - he was below Rio-sama.
hee hee, slipped into Mele mode there. ^_^
Jan was interesting, but hard to understand. The fact that he wanted 'pork cube stew' to be a battle cry preeeetty much sums up his character. Yes, he was raised by pandas (apparently) but shouldn't he have matured a little more? Even Miki's kid was more mature than him.
The red loser was entertaining, but I am more than ready to move on to the next Red.

Re: anyone else gonna miss jan
I liked Jan, but there certainly was a difference between when he was being really cool and being kind of an immature kid. It certainly hurts the drama in the story when the main character isn't able to express himself in words.
But I enjoyed it when he was goofing off and playing with other people, like Lao Fang in Hong Kong or Natsume.

I noticed something, when Jan run and stopped on a hill to shout at someone, his pose is always the same, which he half crawling and half standing.

I'll miss Jan, I think he matured over the course of the series, by episode 48Saejima Kouga wrote:How? Spoiler
he was ready to forgive Rio and Mele, while Ran and Retsu still wanted them to pay the price, I think that's a sign of maturity

About eps 48
Spoiler
Jan's more... innocent than mature, I'd say. It makes sense that he's more ready to forgive and forget. Ran and Retsu's responses are only natural though, Rio and Mele did probably directly or indirectly kill a bunch of people in their attempts to take over the world
