In the year 2132 Japan will be destroyed and sink into the ocean. Takenoko is a cyborg sent back from that time, his only mission is to spread the culture of Japan far and wide in the attempt to preserve their cultural history and identity.

Thanks again for the video, take-san.

Aaaw...Poor Arino. He only barely managed to pass one of the three rounds and yet he unfortunately failed overall.

Challenge 1: Yiu Ar Kung Fu or something

I lol'd hard when he managed to hit five items, only that he instantly died in the 6th one.

Gradius (The original NES one)

Aaah, yes. That famous Komani Code he used. But even then he still lost the round. BTW, if you're new to the whole Konami Code scene or if you're wondering why did Naked Snake threaten a soldier on telling him something nonsense from MGS3, then reading this rather unreliable Wiki Article should straighten the answer.

Hyper Olympics

Yay! He beat the record, but he only got a triangle on passing the last round for using that legendary weapon...

Spoiler
...a flexible ruler. XD I think I saw that method used in one scene from Gintama episode 99, where Shinpachi tries to outdo Yamazaki with a ruler, only he lost to the Shinsengumi Officer who loves Badminton.

So, I guess Arino more or less failed all of the three challenges, right?

Nice. A ruler to help one beat a video game. Oh the Japanese children of the past were so ingenious. These days, we don't need a ruler since the controllers are so curvy. We make third party publishers put in a Turbo function.
And at that Albie cried a single tear which turned into a jelly bean all the colors of the rainbow! And
suddenly...Albie wasn't racist anymore!!!

These were all done in advance. It'll definitely slow down once we run out of our stocked up supplies.

Man I love that ending. You think Arino has beaten the last challenge, and he only gets a triangle

It was funny when Arino gets to the bonus stage and immediately dies. Arino would have gotten a triangle in Gradius as well since he used the Konami Code.

Ah the legendary Konami code I remember using it well in the old days of Contra and other games such a useful code it was. Using a ruler I would have never thought of that, that's why I love the old systems you can do nifty stuff like use a ruler on the controller to beat the game ah memories.
Defeat the Great Fire-Breathing Monster... use your Ultra Beam and... STRIKE!

How many episodes do you have "stockpiled?"

Thanks for translating these videos. I've always wanted to see this show in English and now we get to see a small glimpse at the great show we've been missing. Let's hope the English subbed DVD release of this show actually pans out!
