GameCenter CX North Trip 1-2
GameCenter [CX] Series complete!
On to more, better, bracketless things! I really enjoyed this special and thought it would be a good way of introducing the Kachou outside of the game challenge setting. If you didn't find the short challenge shorts from the first series, maybe this will change your opinion of this show?
Like I said before about the hot springs trip, it's fun watching him visit places, doing things that are very Japanese, trying games that I've never played, and meeting people. And it's funny too!
These episodes take place a good ways into the second series (not sure when). It might refer to some things and people not introduced yet, but it probably won't spoil anyone. It'll give people a better taste of how the feeling of the second series is different and more involved (more funnier and popular too) than the first series

Re: GameCenter CX North Trip 1-2
In the last couple of episodes, I enjoyed seeing the Pachinko & Pachislot machines. I have three Pachislot & two Pachinko machines in my kitchen. I have Mach GoGoGo (Speed Racer), Thunderbirds & Ultraman DX Pachislots, and Yellow Cab & Thunderbirds Pachinkos. They are great fun to play. It was interesting seeing them in actual game centers that Arino visited. My machines are in good nick, but I find it more appealing if they are slightly worn. My Mach GoGoGo has ware & tear marks on it & the ashtray is burnt out. It only adds to the appeal of it coming from a genuine Pachinko hall

People can own Pachinko machines? How much does that run for?

Re: GameCenter CX North Trip 1-2
I got mine from Ebay. I live in the UK & there is an importer who gets them in from Japan every six or so months. They are all second hand from Pachinko halls that don't need them anymore as the new machines come in. They aren't as expensive as you may think. I got the pachislot machines for £150 each, including delivery. The trouble is, they are so addictive, especially when you get one related to your favorite subject liek Ultraman or Thunderbirds. I want to get a Kamen Rider one next, but have to find a place to put it lol.

Wow, all the GameCenter CX eps went up so quickly! Thanks so much for translating these, this show had quickly become a favorite of mine, and it's a thousand times better now that I can understand what's being said! Like Takenoko, I was also curious if you're going to continue into season 2? Regardless, thanks so much for these episodes, I really hope they release the DVDs here someday!

Thanks for the release, take-san.
I really like the North Trip Journals; really makes me want to go to Hokkaido, instead of Tokyo and try out some games that I've never seen in some arcades in Blackpool (BTW, if you hadn't noticed, I live in England (more specifically, somewhere in the mainland, as Blackpool is pretty much more coastal than where I live), where as a small, young child, I looked at the retro games as very exciting and really wanted to play some, if not, all of them, but my mum won't let me. Damnit.
The only moment that had me bringing back those childhood was when I in Blackpool and my cousin and I were playing the original Arcade version of OutRun. Though, I was merely a passenger, whereas my cousin was driving the car.

Ah, Hokkaido. Loved the use of enka. If only the song lamented Arino's use of childcare leave to go play games. That would be hilarious.
And at that Albie cried a single tear which turned into a jelly bean all the colors of the rainbow! And
suddenly...Albie wasn't racist anymore!!!

I love the calm, casual feel of this episode. Arino is such a nice guy, trying hard to win a prize for the viewers!! I might love this show more than this year's toku...

we are here to make you feel; it terrifies you, but it's real

So how'd he do at the Mario Pinball game was he unable to complete that to. It'd nice seeing Arino traveling and looking for Game Centers since they're a dieing breed with the Advent of the consoles & PCs.

I just finished making my younger brother watch these, and he was absolutely thrilled to see all the games he'd never even heard of. He especially liked the Galaga episode, which now he knows how to beat the bonus stage of (something he's never been able to do). Great job guys, and I hope you continue with your teriffic work!

When you hear the tokens being chucked out, it means I'm winning Also the bonus rounds build up in points & then pay out. I only uploaded selected clips to show an example of the machine
