Game Center CX 02 released

Post by takenoko »

I liked the visit to the guy with all the games. I had a friend who I knew through my cousin who was like that. He had all these games. Ah, childhood

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Etc...

You've just made one girl, very, very, VERY HAPPY indeed!

Now, I shall wait for Ari-kachou's latest attempt on his quest to complete a video game and hopes that I'm rooting for him.

*Sigh* If only, two of "those" episodes show up and it's one of my favourite series.

Interesting game this time, Challenger looked very challenging. Also liked the segment with the guy who had all of the Famicon games, it looks like some of those games he had really pushed the limits of what the system could do.

Right, finished watching this lovely latest episode and...

Spoiler
...I'm really glad that Arino completed Challenger. ^^ But then it starts all over again, which is sad, but nonetheless, at least he completed it; with his new AD Sasano. *Sigh* I missed Toujima...

And my eyes must have gone off to Zero Punctuation when Ari-kachou went to the guy who owns around 1500 Famicom games, along with one modified Famicom that has some bits of Super Famicom controller ports fixed in, with a video output.

And damnit, I really wanted to see Gradius in polished Famicom graphics. Why did it have to be digistised for our own eyes? Is it because of copyright reasons or something? :(

Wow! Thanks TV-N!
Heh, Gradius with balls. Rarely do we see a video game like that.
Those Burn! Sports games were pretty interesting, as they also pushed the limits of the 8-bit system.
And at that Albie cried a single tear which turned into a jelly bean all the colors of the rainbow! And
suddenly...Albie wasn't racist anymore!!!

JasonMoses wrote: "Saibalion," which appears at 41:25. It should be "Syvalion," and there are shots of both the marquee and title screen at around the same timestamp which show the correct romanization.

The second is "Zebius," which appears at 42:12 and on. The correct romanization is "Xevious." It's one of the most important arcade shooting games ever made, and Namco has released it multiple times in the West in the past couple of years alone, so this is especially glaring.

O_O!!!

Now I know the reason that GameCenter CX had to censor the naughty version of Gradius. Thanks, I guess...

Favorite part was definitely the Akihabara game center. You'd need at least a week to play all those games. *drool*

This show is awesome for putting more locations on my "Places I need to go in Japan" list.

I like the Famicon guy as well. Too bad they didn't show the ending footage of Challenger (or it had ending footage to begin with). I do remember Moero!! Junior Basketball game as my brother and I used to play it all the time (not the original Japanese version).

As an avid gamer i could just sense that starting on normal difficulty would lead to dissapointment as to actually properly finish a game you need to complete it on the hardest difficulty.
