Kotaku will begin posting "Retro Game Master" from next Thursday, the 23rd of June at 8PM EST
Fans of our GCCX releases would do well to watch this. I'm looking forward to it, we'll have to see what kind of cool stuff they do

Re: Kotaku's Retro Game Master
the post also says that this is gamecenter cx and that they have liscensed it. just metioning this so they don't try to hit TV-N with a C&D.

Re: Kotaku's Retro Game Master
I don't know if this is a good or bad thing. On the one hand it means that there will be a steady stream of gamecenter cx. On the other hand I highly doubt that any subs (or, god help me, dubs) will be as accurate or funny as the ones from TVN. So I guess I'm split 50/50. Unless they release blu ray sets of it.

Re: Kotaku's Retro Game Master
Do we have confirmation that it's going to be dubbed somewhere?
I mean, you guys know how I feel about dubs. I think they're a pretty poor way to bring a foreign show to an audience in terms of faithfulness to the source material, but there are certainly people who like them.

Their twitter feed said subs. Another article said dubbed. My guess would be that producer Ken is dubbed and the rest is subbed just like when Fuji TV was originally shopping the show around.
Re: Kotaku's Retro Game Master
Hmmmm.... I'm a little confused here... Kotaku's story makes it sound like they're simulcasting the current season but I read else where that they're starting from Season 2... I wonder which it'll be?

Re: Kotaku's Retro Game Master
It doesn't sound like they're doing the current season to me. I think they're just saying it's in its 15th season for informational purposes.
If they dub over the narrator, it would make me sad, since the narrator is also the producer (I think) and sometimes has some pretty funny things to say to Arino.

It's gonna be dubbed. Forget it. Especially if things are cut. What's the point.

Sure hope they'll keep it around for people like me who'll miss it cause they're busy.

Well at least we'll get new ones translated this way. No need to complain.
Re: Kotaku's Retro Game Master
Kotaku just posted a preview trailer for this week's episode:
http://kotaku.com/5814017/this-thursday ... ame-master
Ninja Gaiden from the 4th season and with a goofy announcer guy... I'm not happy about the announcer but at least Arino stayed subbed. And Ninja Gaiden... I've heard this was Arino's worst challenge, second only to Castlevania 3... I've never made it past the first few levels of NG myself.. I wonder how Arino will fair...? ...The suspense is killing me...! D:

Re: Kotaku's Retro Game Master
I'm not really sure I understand the reasoning for dubbing the narrator but leaving Arino. Will other people get dubbed too? Just not sure what the thought process is behind it
I also wonder if this will be the Ninja Gaiden director's cut or not

Re: Kotaku's Retro Game Master
Maybe they're trying the same method that was used for the English versions of Iron Chef, where everyone was dubbed but the chairman.

Re: Kotaku's Retro Game Master
Hmmm, what an unfortunate precedent to set. Still kind of wonder what the reasoning is behind it and why it's not just one or the other
