We be back with some Netajin after such a long break

Netajin 2 was completed in April 2009
I did the timing for Netajin 3 back in June 2010
After that it kinda just sat for a while, Cheetah became busy and didnt have time to work on it

I poked Cheetah a few months back to see if I could bring life back to this and he sent me all the files, what a guy, after many hours getting this into QC and then out of QC, we can bring Netajin to a whole new audience that may not have seen or heard of this before.

The First skit

in this one, Jinnai goes to a batting center to practice his swing

The Third skit

Zombie survival game where you kill Bambi and loose with a green onion

I cant imagine how dull games would be if you could just pay to win the game in the end, that would be dull and boring, not that many end boss fights these days are all that hard.

The fourth skit

TV Shopping is the name of the game

What amazing stuff could you buy on late night TV shopping channels, and would you really want to buy that stuff?

The fifth skit

Its a night in the museum with paintings that come alive after midnight

The paintings represented in this are

Mona Lisa
Chardin Wearing a Sunshade
Old Man Playing a Guitar
Munch's "The Scream"

Would have put them in, but the screen would be too clogged up

The sixth skit

Times get hard for Jinnai, but then talks to a Cicada, how strange is his life

The seventh skit

Jinnai is practicing a script for a new show about a forbidden love between two people

How many employees does that shop have...

The eighth skit

Im not entirely sure, looking back on Jinnais life I guess

The ninth skit

Jinnai is down and out and lives his life as a cat

The tenth skit

Jinnai as a 3rd garde teacher and somewhat hints back to the previous skits of this DVD


We hope that you enjoy this release as much as we enjoy Netajin, we probably wont do any more Netajin releases, so this probably closes it all off for us. But it has been good fun doing Netajin.

Netajin is a set of comedy skits by the comedian Jinnai Tomonori.

Dark Ren makes a good observation. I made the post in 2010 because that's when I translated the script for it. Some of those links probably don't even work anymore.

Looking at Amazon Japan, I see one more Netajin where Jinnai goes to Korea. Think we did the other three though.

Skit 1
Classic Netajin it feels like his Tetris skit. I couldn't stop laughing at the 120kg joke.

Skit 2
A good skit. Makes you wonder if CG artists ever screw with actors sometimes.

Skit 3
I laughed at the Bambis and the polite Zombie. The boss fight at the end wasn't that funny.

Skit 4
Probably the best skit of the set. Do they really have random American actors for Japan's shopping networks? Also I wonder if Jinnai was influenced by Jimmy Kimmel. Around 2010 Kimmel had an ongoing joke through his talk show about vaccum bags and how he legally added it to his will to be placed in a massive vaccum bag and get sealed.

Was funny, went too long.

Skit 6
Makes a pretty good argument to not commit suicide.

Skit 7
I love how committed he was to this skit. He even filmed 'scenes'

Trivia: The 10 employees is a callback to another skit he did where he was a Convenience store manager messing with his cameras he just installed. At one point of the skit there was ten people behind the counter.

Skit 8
Weird skit. I think his dad died and this was a tribute showing some of his dad's favorite pictures I guess.
Skit 10 gives a different spin to the joke. Sort of makes no sense.

Skit 9
Another weird skit. Even though I love Netajin I skipped most of this one.

Skit 10
The best way to finish a show. Tie all the other skits including this one into one massive joke.

While I had some pretty good laughs with this one. I don't think it was as good at the other Netajins.

He has a Korea one and I think, according to his twitter he is going to preform in Las Vegas.

I thought "Skit 9" was kinda weak but, I liked everything else a lot more than I thought I was going to when I booted up the QC file.

#6, #8, and #9 didn't really do it for me, but I was howling at the rest.

In the painting sketch, I thought that it was going to turn out that the robbery had already occurred, and the crayon drawing was what the thief left in place of what they stole.

Why don't you guys shift to anime subbing?

Well, not really the thread for that, but mostly because there's a million anime subbers and anime's always getting licensed and stuff. It's more fun to work on things that aren't licensed or less likely to get attention
