The new riders are probably too busy eating avocado toast to do anything productive for society.

Might as write <Insert millennial joke here>

I'm glad to know that the avocado on toast joke is a worldwide thing. I thought it was local.

To be fair, Drive was a police detective and Ex-Aid is a doctor. But most of the Heisei riders are teens/young adults with no real experience.

I forget where local is for you again?

I think I heard about the avocado on toast thing first from Northern Lion's let's play channel. He goes on a bunch of crazy tangents while playing Binding of Isaac. Then I heard it again on the Video Games Hotdog Podcast.

This image is worded to sound better for the Showa Riders though. Like, sure, a lot of them are uni graduates, but it doesn't mention an actual *job* so I think we can stick "unemployed" on there too. Decade's a photographer as well, and Kiva's a violin craftsman as well as a seller. And if Amazon's "wilderness survivor" counts then I think Wizard's "magician" should count too.

I'm not sure what Live Off Woman mean for Wizard, or Uni graduates for the Showa Riders. I'm not an English native speaker, so there are things I don't understand.

Haruto is a freeloader and being a university graduate is a prestigious accomplishment.

So Uni mean University. But I still don't understand what the woman part mean in that particular case.

Avocado toast? ugh. Does the texture of avocado even go with toast?

They're implying that since Haruto doesn't have a job, he's just living off Rinko. (Actually, didn't he live with that antique guy? I don't remember how they made money)

The avocado toast is referring to this thing a rich Australian said:

So live off mean depending on someone to live, so it's a synonym of freeloading. I thought it meant something like living without woman related to having gone on a journey since Koyomi died, or related to Karuto being like really close to Koyomi. Like I said, English is not my native language.
The only ones that have a job are Rinko and Wajima, but I know that selling antiques doesn't pay much since it's not something that's selling well. I don't know how the financial help system work in Japan but since they were like that before even knowing Rinko, I guess it's not her pay that help much.

It's an Australasian thing. Population booms in big cities have caused massive increases in house prices, meaning that it's really hard for first home buyers to get something remotely affordable. The baby boomers don't think there is a housing crisis and they state that Millennials need to save more money and stop wasting money on frivolous expenses such as smashed avocado on toast, which is a common and expensive item sold at cafes.

The smashed avocado thing is now kind of a running joke that whenever someone says they can't afford something important that they'll have to forgo avocado on toast for the week to pay for it.

Haruto was living with the old man in the antique shop. He didn't mooch off of women. The guy who did the image is just wrong about Haruto.
