I love the interaction between Kotoha and Chiaki in this episode. They played off each other very well. Kotoha is definitely one of the stronger Shinkengers in terms of mental strength.

Re: Shinkenger 6 released
I really like the monster's ability in this episode. Man, that'd be such an awesome power
The character interaction is also really great. I'm foreseeing Mako and Ryuu, along with Chiaki and Kotoha
I wonder what kind of stupid things people will complain about in this episode

Re: Shinkenger 6 released
I decided that the reason I like Kotoha is because she's like the little sister I wish I had. The fact that I'm saying that despite all of the dirty comments it will invite shows how serious I am!
What the hell? No Super Hero Time? God, we finally have a show that isn't THE DISASTER THAT GO-ONGER WAS and now we get this crap? It's like they don't even care about us adult fans.takenoko wrote:I wonder what kind of stupid things people will complain about in this episode

Re: Shinkenger 6 released
I like Kotaha, cause she's kinda clumsy yet cute in that sense. Like jonty, she's the kind of sister I would like to have. Cause I can laugh at her, but since she's cute in her own way I'll love her alot as well.
Also, "Liar". Takeru being a liar to the other Shinkengers? More development ftw!
If you didn't mention this, I don't think I would have noticed T_Tjonty wrote:What the hell? No Super Hero Time?
I guess this is true to some extent. She accepts her weaknesses upfront to a great extent.jonty wrote:Kotoha is definitely one of the stronger Shinkengers in terms of mental strength.

I REALLY loved the beginning, with Chiaki hurting his ass and with Kotaha trying to get in his Paints..............(witch is what alot of guys would want, just not Chiaki).
Kotaha and Chiaki had some great chemistry in this episode, they learned alot from each other.
I'm not gonna speculated about Pairings, but this episode gave me a good vibe that ChiakiXKotaha could work.

Holy crap! So much for "Words can never hurt you"
Say, didn't they use that bridge area for the fight in ep 1?
I like the slow, melodic version of the opening they use as BGM during Kotoha and Chiaki's talk.
And that's the same plaza they used in the first ep, isn't it? In fact, didn't Gaoranger use it in an early ep?

Re: Shinkenger 6 released
Like Act 2 (on the part where she was 'lost' on what she said that she was glad to be a Shinkenger), <3 Kotoha <3 sure is so adorable on how simple minded she is. It somehow reminded me of what Aristotle said "If you want to live a happy life, live a simple life" (or something like that, darn i miss randomly reading philosophy books all of sudden =/). The part where she said "I can't cry." and she just smiled during those times, is a good advice to live a longer life ne? =3
also, even though it's not that thick, Kotoha sure has the accent/dialect =P (ucchi?)
and also, I like the way Chiaki keeps saying that he will someday surpass Takeru. I honestly like a character that is a damedame-kun and you will soon know that he will grow and such (Ryoutarou? XD).
someone knows what's the song playing during Kotoha and Chiaki fighting together? darn, i'm honestly loving the soundtrack so far ^___________^ (and looks like Kotoha and Chiaki also loves the theme song at least since they are using their ShodoPhones to apply XD)
Since this is a Kotoha x Chiaki episode, thought I share this. I found out about this part of an interview of the Shinkengers, about Chiaki's sentai fanboyism. I got this from juudenkanryou-sama (the super fangirl translator (which is given that she's a ShinkenBlue fangirl =P) of Kamen Rider Kiva's 751's blog), and i'm not sure either if she was the translator of the article also as she just copy pasted in our ym conversation last time =P (btw, juudenkanryou-sama, if you're reading this, i'm done with your sentai dvd requests, text me whenever if you've finished my kiva concert dvd and we meet up XD)
Aiba: Shougo too, he really likes sentai series, he's very knowledgeable about various things (laughs). He gets really profound about it, there are times we can't understand him anymore (laughs).
Takanashi: Yeah, he's always talking to himself (laughs)
Suzuki: ...... I really like it (smiles). The ones I watched the most were [Ninja Sentai Kakuranger] and [Gosei Sentai Dairanger] and ......
Aiba: But you like [Kamen Rider], don't you (laughs)?
Suzuki: Ah.......
Matsuzaka: It's good, though, right? You said something like that!
Suzuki: I like sentai!
Matsuzaka: But you like the [Kamen Riders], right?
Suzuki: ......!
Morita: Yesterday, at the place where we were filming, you did a [Kamen Rider] henshin pose~ (laughs).
Suzuki: By the way, what I did was V3. Because I like the Shouwa Riders. But I like sentai the best! Can we please move on from this topic now (laughs)!

it honestly reminded me of Yuyu Hakusho in the before the Sensui Arc, the Territory Arc was it called (humans slowly getting powers and such suddenly)? The part where Kurama's opponent uses words =3takenoko wrote:I really like the monster's ability in this episode. Man, that'd be such an awesome power

Re: Shinkenger 6 released
I get a feeling Chiaki and Kotoha may be more like Sousuke and Saki relationship, kind of big brother watching out for kid sister type of thing. I don't know about the age difference with the characters (Suzuki is 20 I know), but Chiaki mentioned College when hanging out with his friends, and Kotoha seems like she's a lot younger than the other 4. I'd feel weird shipping them.

She's 16. Not an awkward gap in later life, but right now, it's huge, so yeah, shipping them is...no.

Re: Shinkenger 6 released
This was a really good episode. Kotoha and Chiaki were a much better pair than Ryuu/Mako. I laughed when she held his hand on her head, so I think it is a mix between older brother/younger sister, or owner/puppy with bite. The next "Learning about each other" episode will have to be Mako and Takeru, as she seems pretty focused on him.
Again, good episode, and I liked the monster, and I liked the "Father complex *bamm!!!* ... Mother complex!! *Boof!!*" attacks. I also liked Chiaki's response to Kotoha insulting herself, as I really hate it when people do that. ~_~

I really liked Zuboshimeshi. "I only tell the truth, if it hurts that's your fault!" How many times have I found myself saying that? If only I could make people fly 30 feet after saying something truthful/hurtful.
I've been waiting to see more of Kotoha's complex since it was first mentioned. I like the idea of having a member that's been berated her whole life and has almost no self esteem and that she was able to turn it around into a strength. And Chiaki had some nice moments too. For being a screw off he sure has some good insights on himself and others.

Re: Shinkenger 6 released
Very good episode and they are beginning to know each other and to be a better team.
Looks like this show is going to be like Gekiranger and ShinkenOh is going to have a lot of addons and weapons. I'm glad about this because that was one of the cool things of Gekiranger.
Thanks a lot for the episode

Re: Shinkenger 6 released
Fantastic episode. For some reason, a lot of the developments took me by surprise. Based on the preview, I expected Chiaki and Kotoha's roles to be reversed (Kotoha being easily hurt by the insults and Chiaki shrugging them off), but the way it turned out allowed for much better character development for them both, as individuals and a unit. If the writers aren't careful, these two are going to steal the spotlight from the rest of the cast.
The truths/fears were pretty much what I expected, although it was nice to have confirmation. Chiaki doesn't want to be the leftover. That sums up his experience in the team to this point well, although it also makes me wonder if he has any siblings or how involved his parents were in his childhood since it's already been implied they didn't train him very hard. Mako's afraid of being an old maid, which complements her dream of being a bride nicely. Ryuu...is just strange. I'm glad they explained the father complex/kabuki connection in show, but I really don't get why he would have a mother complex. After all, we don't even know anything about her yet. Foreshadowing, I suppose. Takeru's a liar, which I presume is a reference to the strong front he puts on for the other Shinkengers. I like that, between last episode and this episode, Mako is quick to read Takeru. I don't think he'll have the chance to "lie" for much longer.
And, of course, Kotoha. All of the insults hurt her, but clearly the one that hurt the most was being called a mere replacement for her sister (who I was surprised to see so soon). By finally succumbing to her injuries at the end, when the battle was over, I think this episode was able to convey a lot of moral messages about the power of words without being preachy.
"You're wrong about the cooking." Possibly the funniest line of the episode.

I didn't realize Shinken-Oh's head looked like that without the helmet. It makes sense, but that detail is kind of weird.

I'm glad this villain's had the highest visible death toll thus far. That said, six episodes in and still no reporting to the emperor. Authorized by the providence, indeed...
...also, is it me or does this show not like cars?
