Natsumikan and Natsumi-kun are two different things. You meant to say Natsumi-kun. Natsumikan is a nickname that Tsukasa gives her as a joke meaning Summer Mikan (orange).DisneyKiller wrote:Or in terms of Decade, Tsukasa calling Natsumi natsumikan will be Miss Natsumi.

Re: Attack/Henshin Translations
The bug, AFAIK, is called Kabutomushi. Kabuto meaning helmet, mushi meaning bug. xD As time went by people just stopped calling it it's full name, since you know, the war era ended, and fewer people wore such helmets. Is what would my theory be. xD
And I agree, keeping the technique names as is sounds cooler, and gives you a bit of japanese learning. Plus, it's been in tradition since the first days of TVN, right? Why change now? xD

No, truth is the kanji that's all over Super ShinkenRed's costume. The kanji in Uramasa is "justice, correctness"

Isn't it "The opposite of justice"? I remember seeing the TL note for it in the first episode it was mentioned.takenoko wrote:No, truth is the kanji that's all over Super ShinkenRed's costume. The kanji in Uramasa is "justice, correctness"

I love how TVN and others like it keep the names and honorifics.gh0stwrit3r wrote: And I agree, keeping the technique names as is sounds cooler, and gives you a bit of japanese learning. Plus, it's been in tradition since the first days of TVN, right? Why change now? xD
But i do remember an youtuber bashing on people who do that. And pointed at TVN as an example.
Hey, i think I should make a shirt that says "TV-Nihon. The real way to sub."
I remember that, too. And on Wiki (i know. its an eyeroller or facepalmer) it is translated into Injustice.zeta_gundam wrote:Isn't it "The opposite of justice"? Seigi is Japanese for Justice. I learned that from Go-onger

Thanks Phoenix512, for coming up with this list ^-^
Had hard times trying to recall what those things mean and had to keep watching back.

And if you make those T-Shirts, yell. There are several other fansubbing groups I would pay to ship one to each member of... just to see if they ever get the message.
(I joke I joke... I KID! I KID!)
((No, not really. I would send them. I am that kind of shameless ass.))

I'd hate to bring up what might be a very, very old discussion, but I still have no clue what "shinken" alone means.

It's part of their name, but it could mean serious or earnest as the ED translation has it.

Actually--and I don't mean to embarrass the Japanese language with my lack of knowledge--I think that it's "true" and "sword" put together in one word. Another explanation I've heard is that it's a type of swordplay.

Shinken 真剣 【しんけん】 (adj-na,n) (1) seriousness, earnestness, (2) real sword (as opposed to unsharpened or wooden practice weapon) (practise), (P)
