Is Kamen Rider Decade a good Rider series to start with?
I have been into Super Sentai for years now but I have never had any interest in Kamen Rider. I'm looking to change that so I'm wondering if Decade is a good series to start with or should I go for an earlier series. If an earlier series can anyone recommend a good Kamen Rider series to start with.

I would suggest watching at least 2 previous series before watching Decade to get the full "fangasm" everyone else is getting from watching it.
I started from Kabuto -> Den-O -> Kiva
So it's really up to you where you want to begin the Kamen Rider series, but I suggest that you do not start with the anniversary series.

All signs point to yes. But a lot of the magic so far is seeing all the heros from uor past back and better than ever. But as a whole it looks pretty good so far, there is only one episode so not much to go on.

I'm beginning to think it's not a good idea. You're probably better off prepping with the old series first

I wouldn't recommend starting with Decade, since you probably won't be able to appreciate to the fullest extent. I myself feel like I haven't seen enough of the heisei series to really appreciate all of the awesome.
Like everybody else I definitely recommend Kabuto, Den-O, and Kiva (Kiva probably would be important to watch). I've been working through Ryuki and Blade, and those have been awesome so far, too. But then, I really want to watch Faiz and Hibiki... XD
So yeah. Basically, start with anything but Decade... I'm so not helpful. <3

I just watched Kamen Rider Decade Episode 1 to see if I would like the series and its definitely a watch. I'm probably going to watch it slowly while I watch the other series since Kuuga and Akito are the only Kamen Rider that aren't subbed fully (at least to my knowledge).

Hmmmm I see. I will try to find them. Otherwise I'm just going to go backwards with the Kamen Rider series.

Putting in another vote against starting with Decade. You won't appreciate it quite as much.
Start with Den-O, that one seems to be good for getting people hooked. As far as I know from my own experience and that of a few other people I know, anyway. I would totally be pimping Kabuto right now, but that seems to be hit and miss with people. But it is excellent, IMO.

Re: Is Kamen Rider Decade a good Rider series to start with?
On personal recommendation, you can start with ANY of the previous series as there is no continuity between them (Except Between Kuuga and Agito, technically) My personal favorite was Blade, and Kabuto was pretty awesome and had a lot of riders. Faiz is actually kinna depressing, and Den-O was the one that got me re-hooked into toku shows. I'd say start with Kabuto and Den-O, then any order from there. Blade is really slow and confusing starting off, but probably has the best overall story out of most of them. Ok, Done ranting :p Also keep in mind the movies are usually a seperate/parallel storyline to the series themselves and aren't canon, with the exceptions of Ryuki, and Den-O's Ore, Tanjou! movie (I believe, please correct me if i am wrong on any of this)

Ryuki's Movie is also not canon.Azuran wrote: Also keep in mind the movies are usually a seperate/parallel storyline to the series themselves and aren't canon, with the exceptions of Ryuki, and Den-O's Ore, Tanjou! movie (I believe, please correct me if i am wrong on any of this)
Spoiler
Its considered as an alternate ending to the series. It also has a slightly different origins aswell.
I guess it's not fully non canon, as its kinda assumed everything else happened the same.

The best idea is to just read up on the Heisei series and watch whichever ones look appealing. I don't think you'll be able to enjoy Decade nearly as much without knowing who most of these Riders are.

Go and watch Kuuga first.
Then followed by Agito, Ryuki, Faiz, Blade, Hibiki, Kabuto, Den-O, Kiva and finally Decade.
