Crossed forearms for "no" and arms in a circle for "yes".

Is it true that a typical Japanese person didn't know what a thumbs-up was in 2000, when Kamen Rider Kuuga was made?

Just on my gut, that story sounds apocryphal. What would it even be a reference to in Kuuga if it hadn't existed by then.

Will add the maru/batsu distinction
