Because people've expressed interest in something like this before, I'm taking a stab at writing articles about the different staffers who create toku shows. Like directors, stunt actors, etc.
Since this week's Garo episode was directed by this somewhat infamous director, let's start with Kaneda Ryuu:

You'd probably know him best for his directing work for the Garo series and other Amemiya related work (they're buddies apparently).
He tends to get... experimental... with his directing style, to Lunagel's chagrin. For example, he uses weird camera angles in Garo 15. Or he uses weird sound effects for Garo Yami wo Terasu Mono 14. Stuff like that.
He also tends to include a lot of scantily clothed ladies in his works.

He apparently has a leg fetish. On an interview about Black Blood, Fujita said as a joke that he thought the show was going to be called ASHI (Leg) instead of Zero due to the number of thighs close ups.

He's doing the Zero movie as well, which bodes well I guess.

Yeah... I didn't like the last Zero series. Which he also was behind.

I feel like that was because it was a series though and they had to pad out for episodes.
I'm a little more hopeful with the movie format.

Dragon Blood is the same format as Black Blood, I think? Black Blood also had a theatrical release, then was released in episodic format. Then recombined for the Blu-ray release, I think?
Re: Toku Creator: Director Kaneda Ryuu
I think it's actually the opposite. Black Blood was two movies that they cut into six episodes for the TV broadcast. The Bluray edition had the theatrical cut, the TV cut was never released.
Dragon Blood is the opposite, it's originally a TV Show. And the director is not Kaneda Ryuu, is Amemiya Keita. That doesn't mean that Ryuu is not directing any episode (he probably will), but Amemiya is directing the whole project, unlike Black Blood, which was directed by Kaneda.
