Chisato is one of Megaranger's better characters, but even letting her have the show can't fix the fact that this episode was rather awful. So if this is Akagi Nobuo's idea of a good episode, he has terrible taste.  On that note I had always thought Grandma Matchmaker was bad due to localization. Looks like I was wrong; the original was equally painful.

No way a match making episode like this was ever going to be good. Either in Megaranger, or In Space. This can't be pulled off. Without being annoying to the viewer.

Being asian, this thing is very common in our culture. I don't see anything wrong with grandma, she is just a regular trendy grandma worried about her granddaughter. There is just a misunderstanding.

I'm not sure but I think Chisato's grandma may have been possessed by Ryutaros, also did they go and give Kenta & Shun new hair styles cause they looked different?
It was an enjoyable episode, but it looks like the team need to go back and study entomology cause those were termites not white ants.

Well, at least here in the original version, they implied that she just wanted to arrange a marriage for some time later. It's been a while, but I don't remember the same implication in the PR equivalent of this episode, it just seemed like the crazy old lady expected Ashley to get married that June.
Plus, the whole thing ended up just being a ruse here: she wanted to know why Chisato was acting strangely and used this as a cover.
This episode was strange, but there's no denying that some stuff was lost in translation.
