Liked this episode quite a bit. I mean, I can see it being a lot worse in the hands of a lesser writer. But you can always trust Kobayashi to give the episode the needed heart to make it appealing to both children and adults.

I appreciated that Kagura was actually realistically pitiable in this episode. She wasn't overly pathetic or overly cute in a shallow way. Her fears would reflect anyone else who's stuck in that situation. She even fought the monster of the week alone and got herself out of her predicament (Red doesn't have to save her from the coffin).

I like this episode (about the plot) but I've seen worse in a robo battle when a coffin breaks. How cute for Kagura even though she transforms into TOQ 5 by herself.

For me, i'm not serious of watching the girl episodes from any Sentai series.

It looks like the show will be using more varied locations instead of always taking place in Tokyo. Does this mean they will avoid the standard rock quarry battles? The rural school was a nice change of scenery and set the mood perfectly.

This is the first time we encountered the limits of their Imagination powers.

We at least know it's by the sea. But I agree, the different set was rather refreshing.

Imagination energy is IMO a pretty dumb gimmick. If they gain power by imagining themselves as such, the show could be over in a few minutes and they could devote the rest of their time to finding their town. Yeah, there's some vague boundaries set by reality, but by the boss fight that'll probably be completely forgotten.

Right's fascination with Ticket seems pretty strange considering that believing in ventriloquism is an innocence thing. So either this is some sort of symbolism or Right is just a tiger wild child. Also, Right needs to lay off the lipstick.

Heart's darkness generated from the fear of death? I thought Wizard ended months ago.

Kagura's strength trick is getting old already. It's bashing the audience over the head with "belieeeeeeve in yourself" morals and excessive sparkles. I also really wish they don't change colors so much from here on out. It's absolutely pointless and only serves to confuse.

Oh boy, not more forced Red x Pink. There really seems to be a lot of that recently. Shouldn't the rest of the team also remember Kagura's tendency to go overboard with her imagination?

I still don't have a problem with the transfer gimmick, I absolutely love it and have no problem keeping track of who is who. I do still tend to refer to them as their 'base' color instead of by number (that's a long habit to break) but when they transfer I'm still pretty much able to keep an eye on where the 1 is, where the 3 is, etc.

I don't feel like this was forced Red x Pink in the same way Amy and Daigo was (not least because this is episode three, while Amy and Daigo didn't start to be a thing until half-way through and then it got completely dropped for a while until the very end -n-). I feel like there's some foreshadowing there about the fact that Right possibly has a greater capacity for recovering his memories and will continue to serve as a reminder to the others. Possibly something along the lines of Right not being as close to dead (or possibly being closer), which could also play into why he woke up on the Shadow Line instead of the Rainbow Line.

So far, it seems they are putting more effort in the villains than the heroes. Aside from the generals detailed designs, even the MOTW are more than just "I'll just blow everything up". Last week they have people killing each other, this week they have a "Grim Reaper". A monster dragging a coffin in the dark singing that eerie song, that's actually scary. I see they are trying very hard to show us this is not a happy-happy series as we all initially thought.

I do hope there is something more to the switching color gimmick other than switching weapons, because that's totally pointless. Past sentai series can just simply pass weapons to each other without needing to switch to each other's colors. The closest example would be Kyouryuuers, they all have individual specialized weapons, and they can pass around and use each other's weapons without any trouble.

another enjoyable yet somewhat dark episode. the monster design is really cool and the song was both creepy and wierd. with the memories thing i was thinking to myself "how are they going to do this? bit by bit through out or one big reveal towards the end?". apparently their memories will come bit by bit through out the series. one thing that bugs me after 3 episodes is that the shadows just repeat themselves after they become giants. i do agree with takenoko-san regarding the placement of red ressha when it folds down: very suggestive.

Limits of imagination, hmm, its's true that people said that imagination have no limits, but what Right trying to point out is you body do have the limits. You see when we imagine stuff we kinda forget ourself so I think that's what happened with Kagura. She can imagine herself as strong as possible but surely her body can't take it.

About Right and Ticket-kun, I think is just being plain curios that's all. Well Conductor said that Ticket-kun is not a puppet, but Right (in my opinion) insists that Conductor is just a ventriloquist with his puppet.

It would have been funny if Right and the others discovered that Kagura was at the previous station by Wagon's selfies.

I don't think the Toqgers are related by blood but just really close friends. As for Ticket, it could be that it's the Conductor's other personality.

So the Shadow Line will probably have turmoil within their ranks at some point since they are independently acting instead of acting as an unified group.

Right now I'm indifferent to the Toqgers proper. The color-switching gimmick is exactly that - a gimmick. It doesn't really add anything to their powers, it just lets them switch weapons and hey, the Gokaigers did that without switching colors and it was AWESOME.

Honestly the thing that keeps me coming back to this show is the villains. They're suave, they're fantastically designed, and they have more personality in the 5 minutes we've seen them on screen than the Toqgers have shown in 3 episodes. I'm honestly kinda rooting for them at this point if only because it'd mean I'd get to see them more often every episode.

I noticed this as well. And it's been mentioned by the heroes. It makes me wonder if there's some kind of price to becoming a giant, like a decrease in intelligence.

Huh, been comparing the openings of each episode. First episode, Right fell during the run from the explosion, second was Tokacchi, and this episode was Mio. I wonder if they're doing it just to count off or signify episode number. Probably nothing important.

Anyway, I can already see this episode banned or re-worked for when it becomes the next Power Rangers series. Shirtless we can do (Leo comes to mind), but that coffin breaker is not gonna fly on a US kids show, no matter how it's addressed.
