It doesn't really make sense when you think about it. Oh well!

Bluntsaur, please no more Akiko ranting in future episode threads and don't call her a buttplug. I know you hate her but that was uncalled for. Read and post this thread for your Akiko ranting.

I had a lot on my mind. Besides, long posts = more contribution, right?

Also, is the Money Dopant guy really evil?
Did he became "evil" after he got his GaiaMemory?
Why would he collect Life Coins anyway?
1. Yes

2. Anyone willing to buy a Gaia Memory is most likely somewhat immoral to begin with

3. For the same reason big game hunters put deer heads on their wall.

Actually Heisei KR shows did that quite many times (I'm not sure about Shōwa coz I haven't watch any of it). It happens a lot in KR Blade.
I think it's one of the director's ways to change the scene. The battle scene after the Dopant is rammed and before he was thrown to the new spot was cut and they proceed with the battle in the new scene.

What is it with the Japanese that whenever they whip out the card games it takes them forever to make a play because they're monologuing?

I've seen that happen in lots of tokusatsu shows. For example, two characters will battle inside a warehouse, or at the beach. Then one hits the other, who ends up in the air and lands in a rock quarry. I always assumed the character was flung *really* far. ^^;;;

Such quick edits are common even outside of Japan and are just a way getting two characters to a certain area without every step of the way. I don't see what's so odd about such a cut except if you take it literally.

Because it's less boring than showing them quietly playing cards?

Also, because it is relevant, "Who would've thought a child could win at a children's card game?!"

I won't Akiko-rant though her smacking the monster with a shoe was really dumb. That "Santa-chan" thing was weird as well...
KR_FIA wrote:Baiting them with rigged victories till the last moment? Judging by Yuko still able to go there more than twice, I would assume that some managed to get some wealth out of the casino, so shouldn't that be a loss to Money guy as well?
I think it was pretty heavily implied that there was some sort of hypnotic addictive effect going on that made people unable to quit gambling there no matter how much they won. And nobody can win forever, which means eventually he'd get them all.
Also, what sort of corruption due to Gaia Memory?
Someone else also mentioned this but I'm pretty sure the people buying Gaia Memories aren't exactly on the up and up to begin with. Also collecting people's souls is pretty evil if you assume that it's basically the same as killing them.

Agreed what better way to solve a dispute than play a Children's card game? Nothing can go wrong

I woulda LMAO if they played a Ganbaride card game as an in show advertisement tho XD

As for Santa-Chan.....seeing as how he knew Shoutaro.....another recurring character like Watcherman perhaps? Oh well i guess he served a purpose to give a deck of cards for Shoutaro.

Maybe for the same reasons as Apollo Geist?

Was anyone else thinking "Pedobear" when the children ran off with Santa-san?

The thinly veiled social message to the kids ("Drugs and Gambling are bad, mm'kay?") is a nice change after the more fantasy-oriented themes of Decade.

I was just thinking that... It would've been cool to see Money "burn" through all his Life Coins and suddenly become several times more powerful, forcing Phillip and Shoutarou to come up with some clever plan in order to deal with the crisis. But then, I suppose that would've complicated the ending of the arc more than necessary.

Actually, come to think of it, I hope the Sonozaki family GaiaMemories each have some kind of similar trick to them. Because really, nothing is more boring than an enemy boss who's only advantage over you is "My Superpower is stronger than YOUR Superpower!" I mean, how cool would it be if TERROR allowed Boss Sonozaki to feed off of emotions of fear?

Also, I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but I'm really liking the design of the letters on each individual GaiaMemory. For instance, going back to the briefcase of Memories showcased in episode 2, the YOU GaiaMemory features a 'Y' that resembles a person running. It is both clever and cute, and I'm looking forward to see how other GaiaMemories run with the pattern.

The part that most interested me in this episode was the fact that the Sonzaki family uses Henshin belts instead of just directly socketing the GaiaMemories. What advantage that gives them over the buyers who slot it directly into their skin is unknown, but I'm certain it is significant.

I am also intrigued by the difference in form factor between the Dopant GaiaMemories, and Double's. 'Money' didn't seem to notice or care, but 'Nazca' did. Why are they different, and how? Can Phillip or Shou slot their Gaiamemories into their skin, or via the Sonzaki belts instead of the DoubleDriver?

Interesting...

^I'm under the impression that the belts act as a filter, so that the addictive effects don't occur.(If anyone can understand that, feel free to put it in a way that makes more sense)

I was wondering, did this arc remind anyone else of the second chapter of Jing?
Also, Santa-san = creepy to me.

I was wondering, did anyone else notice that "Terror" called his family members center pieces of a "museum". Also, Claydoll, Taboo, and Nazca seem to be related to old or ancient past items you might actually find in a museum. I'm wondering, it this is related in anyway. Also, wouldn't Phillipp's ability to look things up similar to looking up information of a library at his finger tips similar to sort of "Akashic Memory", which some ancient beliefs is the "World Memory" of the planet.
People say that the real world isn't black or white, its shades of gray. I prefer to think its a rainbow spectrum, when any color is dark enough, its black, when any color is light enough, its white. Yet, there is a spectrum of cultures and values.
