Okay, now that Akiko is acting more professional... and is proving to be a useful input of inspirational chaos... I can finally approve of her role in the series.

Also, this episode... well, I can't talk about things in the preview, but the pace at which the story is unfolding and the Rider is upgrading... Doesn't it seem like they're setting a high bar for themselves? I can't imagine the writers continuing to have things occur at the same breakneck pace at later episodes... like, say, ep.20+.

I'm beginning to think that Akiko is a great chief. Think about it. Assuming that Philip and Shou's current behavior is indicative of their behavior before, we can assume they had turned her father's agency into a wanton paradise of self-destruction. Shou spends the budget on detective mysteries and will turn down jobs not sexy enough to fit into his hard-boiled detective fantasy. Plus he ends up taking jobs for free on a whim. Philip is always lost in himself.

No offense to Akiko, but I have to disagree there. Phillip may be a little out there, but I think that Shoutaro, despite being a Sam Spade fanboy, is a competent detective in his own right. You don't assemble a network of reliable contacts and make the Fuuto police look stupid by being incompetent. Also, it's pretty much established that Shou and Phil were kicking Dopant ass LONG before Akiko showed up. And it's safe to say that stupid Kamen Riders soon become dead Kamen Riders.

In my eyes, Akiko was total n00bsauce at first, and only cared about making Shoutaro look like the idiot she thought he was, thus confirming her "authority". But after the Million Colloseo incident, she finally realized that Shou and Phil weren't the chowderheads she took them for, and that they were dealing with serious shit, and decided to pick herself up and actually do some good.

Not to mention using her Slipper Of Doom on people who actually DESERVED it. (i.e. the backscratcher detective, and that mobster guy from the Virus Dopant case) THAT, I will give her massive props for.

I'm willing to bet that any money they make comes from their day to day pet finding. Plus she's practical in other ways. Undercover work, turning down jobs that don't bring in the money. While I agree that she's good with money, she totally FUBARED that undercover job.

1. She used her real name. Strike One.
2. She stuck out like a sore thumb. Strike Two
3. She accused the wrong person. Strike Three. YER OUTTA THERE!

So, while I don't hate Akiko anymore, and I do agree that she's somewhat helpful, I think Shou and Phil could still hold down the fort, with or without her.

I doubt it, looks like this arc is just a temporary peak before the mid-episodes... Though it reveals so much plot and interesting facts...
