Please be aware that my comments are to the v2 version of the encode. I plan on downloading the v3 encode later on.

First off, I noticed that there was severe overcompression of some of the material. The title sequence, at points, were overpixelated. Is this the fault of the source material?

Secondly.... during the lauch of the Chrono Ship Yglieg, the sequence is in clear, audible English. Yet, it is subtitled. Uh.... what's the point? I can certainly understand when we have a character whose primary language is not our own (English) and injects one or two English phrases as part of the sentence. This was a completely different character.

Also, was the all-caps of WHO a inside translators reference to another time traveler?
Something happening on a show turns into a board comment.

Mostly consistency, because it's slightly jarring to switch from one language to another, so your brain doesn't always recognize that it's a language you know. It's a lot easier to simply read a subtitle and realize that it's English than to not recognize it and have to backtrack.

Also we do have deaf viewers, so it's also a bit of a courtesy to them.

Kinda surprised that the OP and ED aren't more popular. Even before I watched the series, I thought the OP was very catchy. I enjoy the ED as well, but what really bumps it into my favorites is the way they have everyone disappear and pop up in various spots in the city. Lots of visual fun.

This first episode does a great job of introducing what could be a complex idea. Tatsuya getting attacked by the time travelers is probably one of the most unique ways that a team gets together. A promising start to what I expect to be a good series.

It has nothing to do with what the gender is of the person singing it, it's about weather the song quality, and I for one just don't like this one. If I had an issue with that, then I'd hate the Ending for Ruykendo (and I liked that one), and OOO.
Agreed; that's what I meant as well.

Definitely one of the most memorable starts to a series, actually having the villains in place to engineer their escape to the past with the help of the time police ingenious. Newer version look's nicer, definitely cleaner.

It is a good opening episode. I must say that to my own surprise like the choir-like music. Usually choirs bore the hell out me. But here along with the rock music it sounds nice.

I really want to learn to fly by farting. Seriously, how does Dornero do that. No matter how hard I try I don't even get enough thrust for getting of my seat. Or does he use a specially designed fart-jet. Then where can I buy one?

I know that in Gokaiger they already have the TimeRanger Grand Power with Gai's GouJyuDrill, but how would an episode be like where Tock and Navi meet?

Ah. Didn't know that at all. Tell me, how many years have you watched fansubbed stuff?

I'm kinda glad the original Japanese version is being subbed, although like a few others, I was exposed to Time Force first.

there are some Sentai programs and Tokusatsu programs in general that should grab you and hold your interest right out of the gate, and not mess about actually getting to that point. I remember watching the first episode of Timeranger a long time ago when it was subbed I think by a different group... and I wasn't terribly impressed.

If other people like this series, more power to ya. But for me... I think I'm gonna pass on this series, and wait for more Megaranger. :)

because, and maybe this is just my way of thinking, but I never really thought about a deaf person that watched fansubbed things. I mean, as someone that can hear (not trying to take any digs at your condition) I get annoyed when I only see something but can't hear it. But I guess since you've grown up with it, you can deal.
