HeartCatch the Movie the Manga ...desu ka?!

Post by takenoko »

So I finished reading the HeartCatch movie manga. It's kind of lame. They just screenshot the movie and then scribble dialogue balloons and effect sounds all over it.

I thought it was sort of neat to reread the script that I translated by ear before, but I don't understand why anyone else would find this thing better than watching the movie. I mean, some of the scenes are even cut down. It's kind of the opposite effect when reading a book after the movie. Normally, you want to flesh out what is a condensed two hour experience. In the manga, you get even less than what's in the movie.

So yeah, don't buy this. There's no original art. They don't rewrite the story in an interesting way. Maybe if you want to practice your reading comprehension, this would be good since all the kanji have furigana (I think?) but its generally a waste of money. It's not a manga, no one drew anything for this book.
