Okay I swore to go back to lurking but this is just to sweet of a topic. I would like to see a female rider, however the chances of her being to feminine are to high. No one wants a rider who is afraid to break a nail and that cannot take a good beating. Now the lucky clover chic when she henshined, that was awesome. Kivala (sp?) is an example of where it can go oh so wrong.

Okay then my bad, WTF would they randomly toss it in with a collection with Momotaros, Riderman, and Den-O (okay not really den-o but i forget the form). ::scratches her head:: It's alright to burst my bubble, and this is going to be so much fun to burst the bubble of those on facebook who didn't notice before you. Most my facebook list is made up of toku fans in particular KR fans, and I had her for awhile. XD

There definitely is SH Femme around, but I don't know if there are any other proper figures of female riders. Kivala may have gotten a Sofubi from the 2009 Rider Wars movie, but I can't find any evidence.

Although, if you look around, there are some nice home made SIC of female riders. I say that, but really just Femme and Kivala (no love for L'Arc).

Kivala COULD have worked, IF the the charater was stronger. You cannot blame the idea, though it seemed like a last minute idea. XD I would love to see either Gon or Kohana (sp) grow up to be riders, but that would be frightening for a whole differnt set of reasons.

I don't know thinking about it, OOO wouldn't be that bad of a try. It must be hard to make a greeed sit and eat. XD

Honestly the whole problem here is that the female fandom of tokusatsu in general is really small. The show is obviously made for young boys, and even when you get to the older fans, it's still massively skewed in the male favor. Judging by the people who have become fans of TV-Nihon on facebook (just easier since it shows gender), something less than 10% of them are female.

It's just not a marketable base of customers. They toss in the girls to appeal to the guys, but until those guys have more of an outcry for female riders, it's not really going to happen. I think the closest we've gotten so far is Shinkenger, which was a massive leap forward, but who knows if they'll continue with that?

No I think if they had the female rider she'd have to have sex appeal. Your a woman, I know you've found more then a few riders hot. Would you watch a show if the rider was hidiously ugly? Probably not. Actually ::cough:: I have to admitt that is one factor for me really begining to watch KR. Plus I would miss the suit actors, XD look close enough you can tell the suit actors apart by their "package". Especially Den-O's suit, I have a screen shot that-well-leaves nothing to the imagination really.

Back to the main point, a female rider could work, but only if she could attract the male audiance. Men, how do you feel, could you watch a unattracive or attractive chic fight in a suit?

+edit: For shinkenger I think it was the joke that went around about blue having a pot leaf on his helmet that gave that show plublisity. I like Shinkenger it flowed well and the actors were good.
