Its the surprise we have been building up for, for the last couple of weeks now, its the 2500th release of TV-Nihon and why not make it a first episode of a new series that we have been working on for quite some time.

Its Kodai Shoujo Dogu-Chan Episode 1.

Dogu-Chan is a Japanese comedy tokusatsu series directed by Noboru Iguchi, director of The Machine Girl and RoboGeisha

By chance, a hikikomori named Makoto Sugihara finds a strange breastplate buried in the woods. When he places his palm on the breast plate, its design gets burned into his palm while the action awakens a girl named Dogu-chan, a hyperactive yōkai hunter from the Jōmon period. Because he had touched her breastplate, Makoto is now bound to Dogu-chan as she adapts to modern day life, fighting yokai in magic armour formed by her dogu assistant Dokigoro while slowly prying Makoto out of his shell as he is dragged into her misadventures, whether he likes it or not.

Basically if you like boobs this is the show for you, its an adult based drama show with undertones of toku as it aired in a late night slot similar to that of DaiMajin Kanon, Cutie Honey the Live and Garo.

Now on the trailer the time mentioned in the on screen sign is listed as PM, but it is actually supposed to be AM as it aired at a very strange hour in the morning.

Also on the trailer, there is a strange fault at the bottom of the video, it’s from the source so we can’t really do anything about it.

So onto the episode, we meet Makoto the recluse, Dogu-Chan the crazy girl and the flying clay doll. It’s a bit of a random mix of everything in this show; I think it caters well to most crowds. Its just fun from start to end.

I have to say I have enjoyed working on this show, it’s been amusing and I think the other staff who have worked on it have found it amusing as well, I know Triple_M has.

With the translations we have sourced permission from the softsubbers to use their translations for the show which has taken a small load off of takenoko, its nice to know the fansubbing community can pull together like this. We hope you enjoy the work UedaJiro has done for the community and for allowing us to use his translations.

I thought Makato was Keita from KS7. I hope he doesn't get typecast in that role forever since Keita is kinda of similar. As for Dogu-chan herself, at least she has range as in her role in W 39-40.

I think I will enjoy Dogu-chan but Uona's forehead was just too big. I couldn't stop staring at it.

Okay, so I wasn't expecting this series to be the 2500th release, but I have one thing to say about this series:

What the...?! I think my IQ's been taken off many by the time I've finished watching the first episode. So many tits and innuendos thrown in my face, despite being a female myself. And hey Keita, glad you're still around after KS7 ended.

And now, if you excuse me, I'm going to sit into a virtual corner somewhere in the forum, cry and asking myself on why do I watch Cutie Honey-esque shows instead of Magical Girl ones like Sailor Moon or the Cure series or something.

Other than that, I think it's going to take me a few more episodes to get used to this.

Well, seeing Dogu-chan for the first time was pretty awesome. Hot & sexy actress who guest-starred in W, an Actor who played the star in KS7 (another awesome series), and BOOOOOOOOBIIIIIEEEEEEESSSS. It's an interested series that does have potential. And hope we see moar booobies (nuff said like the rest of you pervs :p)

Oh God, this series has a frightening amount of boobies... Looks like I'll need to keep this in a hidden folder unknown by anyone else...
