I like the shot of the Japanese houses in the background. All the same level. Like the manga at the library. All the same size. Ah, so neat and organized.

Wow, what a cool gun shot scene. It was so powerful that it knocked them outside! Oh, but I guess it didn't work because they got up again.

Anyway, what a fun episode all around.

Trivia:
Looks like this week's monster of the week is Regaeru which comes from ire-kaeru
入れ替える 【いれかえる】 (v1) to replace, to substitute, to shift, to change places
I'm a little curious as to why the k becomes a g, since the original irekaeru construct doesn't use the g.

Edit: Wait a minute, I just realized something

This shot is from the outside of the bathroom. So basically, anyone walking by can see guys peeing in the stalls. I don't know if they just did this so that it'd be an easy transitional shot, but shouldn't there be some kind of visual barrier at least? You can't complain too much about people watching you pee if you just leave the door open.

If you look at the shot just before when that screen is taken, though, you see that Lu(Hakase)ka has to walk into a small little alleyway to even enter there:



Presumably the little alley provides an amount of privacy because people would be unlikely to walk down it unless they specifically had to go inside the bathroom.
Plus you can tell that there's a door that is perhaps usually closed. The production team might have just opened the door to serve the scene.
It is still an oddly laid out bathroom, though. Could be due to space limitations.

I've now fulfilled my lifelong dream to dissect the bathroom architecture of a scene from a toku show.

I loved this episode. It was very funny to see two opposite characters change bodies. I also thought Luka would be in som shady buisness or at lest in trouble when thoe maffia-guys started to chase Luka(Hakase)

This episode was pretty funny. I really had to laugh at the simple things. I wonder how much Luka charged Gai and Doc for the fine LOL!!!

I was hoping they would have swapped colors in the last henshin. One would think that each would have pulled their own color key by instinct and the Gokai change would have gender matched anyway. At least the swapped poses were fun.

Genderbending fighting was fun though. I thought that they would switch keys, but I guess that would mean new costumes to fit the suit actors. But those have got to be cheaper than some of the others they've has one shots of.

Assuming this gets a Power Rangers version that doesn't deviate that far, I would be totally unsurprised if the Green Ranger gets featured in a Very Special Episode about depression/suicide. Stuff that happened was almost too sobering and detracted from an otherwise amusing episode.

I believe the first Miss America from Battle Fever was Caucasian. Then again, she apparently spoke very little Japanese and had to be dubbed over by a Japanese actress... Aside from her, Momo Ranger and Heart Queen were both half-Caucasian.

Gonna go out on a limb and say no. The closest they seem to get is "japanese people who come from the jungle/America/France/space". Shit, the Gokaiger aren't even human.

Keep in mind how non-asians are portrayed on these shows. We're generally used as comic relief unless there's a point to the character being foreign, like the world leaders in this episode. It's going to take a while before Japan moves on from "it's funny because they're white." At least we got a female Red, so... yay for progressivism in Japan?
