KR Fourze 28 released

What a great episode. We learned about the meaning of friendship. Ryuusei got to look cool. I was right about shipping Ryuusei and Nozama. Meteor Storm is a cool looking design...

...then we get to the spinning to finisher. Yeah... That was bad. Why didn't they just have Ryuusei throw it and having it turn into a meteor or something as it pierces his enemies?

And Libra gets to be cunning and deceptive at the end (plus this was set up in the previous episode. I know Mag and me were at least wondering what Gamou was foreshadowing). Very nice.

Trivia:

Kijima's bad pun with Gamou about how an entertainer is like a fraudulent boxer relies on a pun on Nobiru. In the entertainer's case, they can't trust other people so they can only grow (nobiru) on their own. In the fake boxer's case, they fall down (nobiru) on their own.

These two lines:
Ore no sadame wa arashi wo yobu ze! (My fate is to summon the storms!)
Ore no mitame de hasami de yobu na! (My appearance doesn't mean you get to call me claws!)
There's not even a joke here. They're just sort of structurally similar sentences. C-clever? I guess?

面白くない Omoshirokunai Not funny
尾も白くない O mo shirokunai Even the tail isn't white

Yay! The scourge to all translators is gone! Whooohooo!!

That said, apart from his horrible puns, Kijima was quite a good villain. He was believable and entertaining, and it was only his hubris that lead to his downfall. I would've thought that he would've said something like "I'm Kijima! Don't hurt me!" to Virgo instead of just letting her send him to the Dark Nebula. I get the feeling we haven't seen the last of him though.

I'm on the fence about Meteor Storm, but the finisher is kinda lame. It's more like a curling stone than anything space-y.

It was always fun when the nature of idioms just causes three different people to have three different interpretations on it's meaning and phrasing.

Kijima... he was pretty good. Hate the puns, not the pun creator XD And yeah, I'm sure we'll see all the Horoscopes together at some point. Dark Nebula is this series equivalent to falling in water and faffing off for a few episodes.

I'm not really sold on the design of Meteor Storm. It doesn't really sit well with me but I do like the staff though. But the Limit Break was just silly. First it starts up as a pinwheel and then it shoots out a top that can absorb energy explosions.

Tachibana really does have a heart after all when giving Ryuusei the test to see if he would go for the power or forgo it to save the Kamen Rider Club. I think Ryuusei has an unseen charm that goth women seem to dig. I'm liking the idea that Ryuusei is slowly warming up to them and even thanking them for allowing him to go to see Jirou while keeping Kijima occupied.

I don't think Kijima had time to think to save himself because I would assume that he doesn't know about the Dark Nebula or Virgo sends people there. I wonder how Libra will explain himself when the cop shows up again even though Virgo sent "him" to the Dark Nebula. I truly think the reason why Kijima pissed off Libra so much because he wasn't chosen to be a Horoscope gloomed by him like Scorpion was.

I'll miss Kijima though it was fun watching him while it lasted.

Meteor Storm looks like it was inspired by the monkey king to mesh with Ryuusei's kung fu. The limit break was disappointing since it was obviously designed as an imitation Beyblade. Using the toy's actual rip cord in the episode didn't leave anything to the imagination. It's not surprising since The LEGO Group was very successful last year with their own Beyblade inspired toys, the Ninjago spinners.

Eh? Besides using a rod, how is his design similar to the Monkey King?

Spinning top itself was lame. Would have been better with nunchucks for the real Bruce Lee shingdig.

Two things I like with Cancers defeat, the telling of the lame joke reminded me of the MOTW from Go-Onger before they died. Also, how the last thing that is cut off is his tongue, which is oh so valuable to him.

And Libra trolling ftw.

whoa whoa a pinwheel that can defeat a giant crab?? ME WANT!!! What's the point of gathering all the horoscopes if Virgo is going to send them away because they can't beat two Kamen Riders.

1. I'm surprised Kijima didn't tell anyone about Ryuusei at all. I mean, he could have said it to the KRC as a way to mess with their heads. He could have said it when in the mini fist fight with Ryuusei. Hell he probably could of told Gamou. HOwever he DID promise Ryuusei he wouldn't tell anyone.... which is weird because the other promise he didn't keep.

2. I was really annoyed with the overuse of the handshake a while back. I remember the Handshake only being used at the end of a very epic storyarc and it closed it. I really love how Ryuusei mentions it isn't time for his handshake yet. ((Episode 40ish when we learn all about Tachibana/Kengo and why he doesn't want anyone to know about Meteor. That is usually when we learn about mentors like Shroud and Queen))

3. The helmet is shaped like a crown and the gold around his outfit is sort of like a robe, sort of like the monkey king. I'm not a fan of the color scheme though. I was thinking his was going to be like Magnet states and the comet on his facemask will be bigger and he will have boxing gloves shaped in the same comet style. With a thousand punch finisher going on with the Meteor theme.

Also, sweet thinking by Ryusei to get Cancer to laugh. It sucks having a crappy Tokusatsu easily reversible power like that, huh Cancer?

Cancer was defeated with a Beyblade?

I love how Libra is all "we don't accept failures" as if he hasn't failed the most. But yeah, I kind of expected Kijima to go down like this. He should have known that annoying the hell out of his evil co-workers of evil might not end so well for him.

Poor Sonoda-sensei is now stuck in the Shadow Realm with Kijima, nowhere to run from his puns. I look forward to their return haha. I'm one of the few who miss Kijima already.

Oh come on Ryuusei, was it really that hard to smile at the people who literally gave their souls for you?

At first I was just pissed that he didn't react fast enough but okay, that does make sense.

A good character development episode for Ryuusei. and i like how he's opening up, but isn't all "i had my two episode focus arc, so insta-friends."

1 question. how does a meteor storm and a beyblade related? for all i know, better rename the state as Meteor Blade, not Storm. Guess they really doesn't care about this....

So glad Ryuusei didn't auto befriend them. That would of sucked. His power up sucks. When I first saw the toy in photos, I though it was cool. Now that its a top. It looks crappy. It doesn't mesh with Meteors style. At least Ryuusei is forced to hide his identity. A lot better than his own choice when to spill his beans. I expect his powers taken in episode 47. So Gen fights alone.

Meteor's power-up shoulda been becoming a Gekiranger.
Ha, see what I did there?

But in all seriousness, this was a pretty ballin episode. Anticlimactic fight, until HOLY POOPBALLS HE HAS IMPROVED SUNDER.
Character dev was awesome.
Although I'm thoroughly mad that Kisaragi Gorou was basically ignored for this episode. HE'S SO BADASS =[
