As far as I know, the only one who's still decently active is Rikako Sakata/Miu, who's been in a few acting gigs since (One of them being Switch Girl, alongside Kamen Rider W's Renn Kiriyama/Shotaro) but mostly does modeling for CanCam magazine.

See, there's a couple red flags on this for me:

1) The new production company is literally 2 days old. May 23rd this year. That means they're not gonna have the resources or pull that older companies have.

2) They have a mere 10 talents they're representing. Shimizu/Sengen is by far the most prominent of the bunch, the vast majority have either had only bit parts in commercials or movies or are complete newbies (one of them only has "Miss Kanto High School Student Finalist 2014" on her profile)

3) The president of the production company is Okawa Ryuho, who is the president and founder of the Happy Science cult (whose divorced wife and current wife were the reincarnations of Aphrodite and Gaia, respectively).

So yeah, while she's nominally still in the game, this is clearly a Happy Science production company and as most Japanese tend to be leery of cults, it's pretty doubtful whether they'll get any actually meaty parts in anything good. Most likely they'll just do their own self-published movie or photobook and get followers to buy them, but mainstream acceptance is just not gonna happen. I can't even say this is good for her since they're clearly just piggybacking off her and Kirara's fame for this.



After actually reading about what Happy Science stands for, this shit is bananas and it's only maybe slightly better than Scientology, but not by much.

Well, it's been 6 months, let's do a "where is she now?"

Since her switch to Ari Productions, she has written a whopping 2 books (both published by Happy Science, about Happy Science, one co-written by the founder) aaaand that's it. She is slated to be the heroine in a movie to be released next summer buuuuut it is:

1) Written, produced and advised by the founder (songs written by him too!)

2) co-stars the founder's son

3) has absolutely nothing written about the plot on the website

Considering that she was in Tokyo Ghoul just right before switching companies, this is like getting cast as an Avenger and then slumming it on the Hallmark channel. I wish her well but it's fairly evident she's committed career suicide.

I mean, it seemed like she was quitting show business after Tokyo Ghoul anyway (to focus on cult stuff). At least until the cult told her to keep being an actor for cult promotion reasons...

It's almost like associating with crazy cultists is a horrible life decision.

Speaking of which, I would like to announce the start of my own cult. If you ever feel dissatisfied with your life, it's clearly because you have radiation particles from too much electricity. Come to my remote compound, give up all electronics, and give up all your worldly belongings as the first step to start being content.

I wanna do the honor of analyzing and bashing that upcoming Happy Science movie in the style of Doug Walker/The Nostalgia Critic or pitch the idea to his Tokusatsu-savvy associate Marzgurl.
