Your thoughts? Seems like this game is made with the west in mind.

I'm unsure how they'll strike a balance between maintaining the core mechanics and pandering to western gamers that don't play MonHun games. They run the risk of freezing out one group or the other, or making an average in-between game.

It's Capcom, I'm worried the new game mechanics that they introduce will be implemented poorly.

Then again, I heard they've wanted to rebuild the engine for Monster Hunter, and doing one made specifically for powerful machines instead of handhelds would be the way to do it. The different interactions between the animals and potential for setting traps using the environment sounds kind of appealing.

It's crazy but from reading comments all throughout social media it seems like a nice chunk of people are down on this game. Sure it's added a bunch of stuff but it really looks just like an HD Monster Hunter. And now that they aren't limited to a handheld system we finally get to see what they can do with even more power. I'm sure that stuff in this game was probably sitting around in the team's notes as something they wanted to do anyhow. I'm all for it. Maybe I'll see some of you guys online.

I'm just skeptical because Capcom's introduction of new mechanics in the past have been half-hearted and relatively unsuccessful. Like the swimming, or the jumping only if there's a slight ramp to jump off of, or weird convoluted bug mechanics.

Like prove me wrong, Capcom. I'd love to have a good Monster Hunter game on the PS4.

New trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULqY6yXn2S4

Aigoo...from deaf's perspective...all those tiny details are gorgeous. Also it's neat to see small stuff occurring such as spent bullets bounce on mud surface (0:39) or monster picks up rock and caused a great sword wielding hunter to bounce off it when trying to strike him, haha (I find that hilarious for some reason).

Looks like co-op maybe since you can see other hunters joining? I might pick up MH game once again...haha. And that giant monster at end, looks intimidating.

Have been playing Beta couple of times. Def liked what I saw so far even though I got my butt kicked quite a bit... but still... liked it enough that I am getting the game this Friday. Although, no idea if anyone from TV-Nihon is planning to pick it up as well. We are allowed up to 8 clans to join (50 members per clan), was wondering if there's anyone from here willing to form perhaps a TVN clan?
Oh I am getting game for PS4 btw.

I already hate you Nergignate....

Triple, Slyder, and I played the beta and liked what we saw. I didn't know about the hidden bosses till after the first beta ended. I'm definitely getting it and I know triple will too.

Right! My Gamestop is gonna start selling it a 9PM tonight. I'm too hype. I think this is the 1st game I've bought in like 5 months.
