Stop calling Kozukozu Kozkoz
I don't really understand the reasoning for Kozkoz, but it seems like an arbitrary spelling/a mistake.
I mean, it's a Japanese name, written with hiragana: こずこず. If she calls herself Kozkoz, that'd be fine. But otherwise, one should assume it's like any other Japanese name.
Besides, Kozukozu comes from Kozue, the name of the actress. And she pretty much goes "No, my name is Ko-zu-ko-zu" in an episode. I don't think it gets more definitive than that.
Edit: From the Akiba page, look at the background:

Too bad there aren't any instances where we need the Kozukozu stamp of approval because that image is perfect for that.

Speaking of, what happened to the other girl that was in the AkibaRanger HQ that did the sentai female cosplays? She did Deka Pink (which is seen in the opening). At least, I'm pretty sure that wasn't KozuKozu..
I’m the one nightmares are afraid of.

I thought she was Blastosaur Squadron Common Rider Double Dikkeido Mebius?
Spoiler
The hero's eventually going to win. But at what cost? Also,

I believe you mean Moebius which is derived from the German word. Don't forget to include an Orga in there now too.
Re: Stop calling Kozukozu Kozkoz
what about spelling it "Youko" when it clearly says "Yoko" in the Go-Busters opening? there does seem to be an overabundant use of the letter "u" in a lot of TVN shows. even Wikipedia seems to have standardized "Yoko" for every famous person with that name.
I don't really care either way... just pointing it out. I won't pretend to know as much Japanese as you guys

Re: Stop calling Kozukozu Kozkoz
The u's just there to represent the long vowel. It's sort of a different case there since dropping the vowel is still even if you drop the u. For Kozukozu, the u in zu is pretty much an essential part of the sound and spelling.
The thing with Youko and Yoko is both are acceptable alternate spellings for the same thing. I see that a lot of the names on wiki standardize it to Yōko too. They all mean the same thing.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Se ... ouko&go=Go
Basically in Japanese, Youko is spelled Yo-u-ko. If this were written in katakana, the u would be just a dash, since the vowel is just modifying the o in Yo to make it a long sound. Same thing with Ryuuji. Ryu-u-ji. You can drop it and write Ryuji. Or Ryuki from Ryuki. You can still pronounce it correctly since the vowel is there.
Kozkoz is incorrect for a number of reasons. Since it's a Japanese name and written with hiragana, it's not really supposed to be open to interpretation like that. Japanese sounds are almost all consonant+a vowel. Breaking it down, the basic components are ko-zu-ko-zu. The zu is one thing by itself. If you drop the u from it, that changes what that sound is supposed to be.
Anyway, I don't really feel like anyone has a reasonable justification for Kozkoz. It's just people making a mistake and spreading ignorance around.

Re: Stop calling Kozukozu Kozkoz
This strikes me as being needlessly literal; romanisation of trailing vowels is often subjective,
so neither spelling is wrong as such. I guess it would depend on whether you expect the
user to be familiar with Japanese pronunciation or not. If you think they're not, then yes,
you'd want to spell it out just to get the point across. If they -are- familiar, however, then
they understand that the extra 'u's are implied.
One could just as easily argue whether "Malshiina" should be "Malushiina".

@Saku: In one episode, she literally says her name is "Ko-zu Ko-zu." I believe that either one or both was pronounced as "zhu" where the "zh" sound is the same as the S in "treasure." If I'm correct, which I may not be, her name is Kozhu Kozhu

What? That makes no sense, what the hell are you basing that on? Trezhure?
Re: Stop calling Kozukozu Kozkoz
Well, the official site is an indisputable source. The Morphin Grid wiki has therefore just been updated. This sort of thing goes on our Style Guide/Sentai Spellings page. Perhaps something similar should be put on the TV Nihon wiki.

Even after the series has ended, it's still giving an issue. how clever and cunning.
Kozukozu seems a proper terms though. Although her true name is still hidden from us.
That's 1 of many ways to make a sub character steals a show. Create a debate of how her name is pronounced. Is that what you are telling us Hatte Saburo?

Ahahahaha... Oh really? There's a lot of problems with that since sometimes the guy setting up the page might not be the same as the creative staff. Cases of the right hand not talking to the left. Por ejemplo:Digifiend wrote:Well, the official site is an indisputable source.

We probably should have a style guide, but we're really pretty small so far. It's not really a big issue to look at a problem and just fix it if I'm the first one to see it. Overall, I don't really like too many rules. I don't want to unnecessarily restrict things too much if it means having less information available. People should be able to read all the various alternates and be allowed to make their own choices on what is right.

you don't pronounce "treasure" like that? The S in "pleasure" and "leisure" is pronounced the same way.Lunagel wrote:What? That makes no sense, what the hell are you basing that on? Trezhure?
