KR Wizard Net Movies
http://wiki.tvnihon.com/wiki/Net_Movie_ ... a!%3F_Land
Was pretty good for the most part. I liked how they focused on each of the side characters (even going so far as to admit that Shunpei doesn't do much in the TV series). It was fun exploring these characters without the rigors of the plot they were caught in.
Rinko's cop corner was my favorite. These episodes felt like they had the most going on with the most variety.
I loved the comedy act with Medusa and Gremlin. Yeah, it was the same joke again and again, but it was fun watching Medusa acting dense while Gremlin plays the part of the exasperated straight man. Also, bowling reference.
Shunpei's stuff was okay, but sort of predictable.
Didn't like Koyomi's Room. It seemed like it was all ad-libbed and just kind of not that funny to begin with. Koyomi didn't even do her chant thing separately, they reused that footage each time.
I wonder if Shunpei's bike number means anything. It looks like a date, probably someone's birth date? 1-9-9-3-1-2-2 So either January 22, 1993 or December 2, 1993.

Re: KR Wizard Net Movies
It's January 22, 1993 which is the birth date for Nitou's actor.
It was interesting that Rinko only does the male cop voice when she puts on the shades. So dying while watching Shocker porn is worthy enough to be a ghost. I'm glad that they poked fun of Ichigou and Nigou being almost identical except for the color of their gloves.
I really did like the fourth wall stuff with the narration for Kamen Rider Mage. Also I swear Haruto was enjoying his time of being the "assistant". He makes a better assistant than Shunpei does.
The Mystery Rider segments were pretty good.
I'm not sure of the Koyomi Room segments. I think they wanted the actress to be more of herself and just putting her in various outfits compared to the show. The content wasn't great but I think they were trying to do something with Koyomi. I'm curious if Yuugo in the movie is wearing a wig if he had blonde and short hair.
I'm a bit surprised by the lack of any movie content with these Net Movies. Usually you get something with the movie but not in this case.

Amazing find! That makes a lot of sense since he steals Shunpei's bike.
>Also I swear Haruto was enjoying his time of being the "assistant". He makes a better assistant than Shunpei does.
I don't know if it came across, but Haruto says a lot of Shunpei's lines from the series.
>I'm not sure of the Koyomi Room segments.
Yeah, they kind of made me like Koyomi even less. Maybe they had the right idea by keeping her around and not having her say very much.
>I'm a bit surprised by the lack of any movie content with these Net Movies. Usually you get something with the movie but not in this case.
Besides spoiling that Phoenix is in the movie?

If you watch the movie previews, you would know he was there. But I guess I'm going for is like talking about the movie Rider or villains a bit in detail which there wasn't at all.

Re: KR Wizard Net Movies
I may have enjoyed these net movies more than the series itself. The Medusa and Gremlin segments were probably my favorite - rampant breaking of the fourth wall to amusing effect, particularly with the Magimother bit. The faux Kamen Rider Mage show was a close second. The actors, particularly Haruto, seemed to be having lots of fun with the role reversal and poking some fun at their work in previous episodes.
The Kamen Rider Deka segments were, as a whole, probably my least favorite. Nothing wrong with them, but I think I would have preferred if the focus stayed on Wizard characters instead of pulling in the Showa suits. That, and some of the behind-the-scenes trivia that was tucked away in the dialogue, were the only advantages that Koyomi's segments had. I may also be trying too hard to give Koyomi's actress the benefit of the doubt since I was so annoyed with her by the end of the regular series.

I love the Rider Deka segment, maybe because I just love police drama in general
Medusa's segments are also hilarious. Shunpei's ones are ok, I find the narrator's lines funnier than anything, and Haruto is having so much fun as assistant. I don't know about Koyomi's ones.
But what I enjoyed the most is Net 16, the one about white mage. Medusa suddenly popping out Forze and Ixa dolls and cheerfully plays with them.
But most of all, it's MagiMother! And then Medusa's reaction:
SENTAI!!!
I seriously just fell off the chair laughing
Other random thoughts:
- Even the staff admits that Shunpei is useless in the tv series
- How much did that OZ shopping center paid Toei
- OOO Latorattah acting like a good pup is cute
- Interesting to know they change white mage's title because of MagiMother
- Poor Riderman just keep dying

Re: KR Wizard Net Movies
I enjoyed the Mage/Shunpei segments quite a bit. The sarcastic narrator, Shunpei trying to play the straight man, and the familiars on visible wires was great. My favourite was by far the gag involving putting the engage ring on the wrong finger... Shunpei and Nitou make a cute couple, and the seriousness with which Nitou approached that kiss was superb! However I think he would have been cuter in a dress with a fuller skirt. ♥(ˆ⌣ˆԅ)
Medusa and Gremlin were great in their segments too. Medusa playing with the Fourze and Ixa toys was adorable, and only topped by her yelling at and later getting rough with MagiMother.
Felt rather ambivalent about Rider Deka, and Koyomi's Room felt incredibly halfhearted in execution.

Re: KR Wizard Net Movies
Watching a few of them before the whole movie finishes downloading.
The cop ones reminded me how cute Rinko is, , especially when trying to sound tough...
The Medusa segments, is the actress' near-sightedness really a good source for jokes?

Re: KR Wizard Net Movies
Net Movies were great as always. Although Koyomi's Room was a bit weak (what was with the "Makoto! Makoto!", was that a reference to something?), & I was a bit disappointed there wasn't allot of Haruto/Nitou interaction (those 2 have great comedic chemistry). But I loved how hardcore Haruto was making fun of Shunpei's role in the Mage segments.
Also, I can't help but feel there's one missing, I remember seeing screenshots of this one scene where Shunpei's on a rooftop with Haruto & Nitou about to Rider Kick him from both sides. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Of course that may be from something else, or I may just be delusional.

That's her real name. Okunaka Makoto. She's in an idol group called PASSPO. The flight attendant motif is their theme. So I suppose it's just a nod to her other job.HarryFA1 wrote:Net Movies were great as always. Although Koyomi's Room was a bit weak (what was with the "Makoto! I have to admit thoughKoyomi's Room could have been more interesting. But I liked it. mainly because I like Makoto.
The Medusa segments were funny. Why's she so racist against Sentai?
Overall it gave me some good laughs.

Guess even a kid's show is not too far for a boob joke.
Well, that was nicer than expected.

Re: KR Wizard Net Movies
I find myself generally in agreement with you. The Deka segments were definitely the weakest, and that's because Toei doing the nostalgia bit year after year grows old. Though I'm not fully sold on the Mage segments either due to a general weariness when it comes to anything involving Shunpei.PHurricane wrote:I may have enjoyed these net movies more than the series itself. On the other end of the spectrum, Medusa and Gremlin was definitely the best. In fact it's a bit surprising they turned out given the fact that they beat the joke itself into the ground. But having Medusa's logic get increasingly worse and straight-man Gremlin become increasingly frustrated had its payoff as the segments went on. And the use of MagiMother in the final segment to really obliterate the fourth wall is a legitimately creative twist.
As for Koyomi's Room, I may have liked it more than anyone else here. Like Medusa and Gremlin, this has a bunch of really neat 4th wall bits, particularly the gags about OZ and how much Medusa's actress gets paid to play two characters. Actually now that I think about it, the MP +30 mayo was also a good gag, even if the prop was kind of lame. But some of the other gags definitely fell short, plus the costuming gags waver between disturbing for Sunpei in a dress to pervy for Koyomi in a bikini.
It's Japan. They managed to work in a boob joke, a porno joke, and a fart joke all into all of this (plus Haruto grabbing at Rinko's waist in the movie). High brow it ain't.StereotypeAsian wrote:Guess even a kid's show is not too far for a boob joke.

Re: KR Wizard Net Movies
So am I the only person who liked Koyomi's Room? During Mayu's section, were they basically suggesting that Erina got paid twice as much as the others, because she played two characters?
Seen:
Super Sentai: Fiveman onwards
Kamen Rider: Ichigou-Skyrider, all the Heisei/Reiwa series except the American shows.
Precure: DokiDoki-Go Pri
Metal Heroes: Gavan
Other: Spiderman, Power Rangers
