Oh hey, Gordo. While looking up Robert Baldwin's wiki page, I found out he was also in the Abaranger movie. This isn't his first dinosaur Sentai?!

I think it's pretty hilarious that Candelira's only goal is to make people happy. It's so benevolent!

It's pretty funny when Ian shoots Toperanda at Souji and then later calls him a perapera boy.

Salon de the?

Batissier has strawberry eyes! I'm guessing Candelira won't be chosen very often since, although it'd be pretty good if she spends the series trying to make people happy, only to be foiled by one thing or another

Ian fighting with toothaches was pretty good.

10 shots. There's nothing like the feeling of slamming a long silver bullet into a well greased chamber.

So they can only use that sword when all five members are together?

Pretty nice setup for next week.

Goddammit Gordo, you speak perfect Japanese! You were born in Hiroshima for crying out loud! Don't be that stereotype!

That said, it's so nice to see my hero in a tokusatsu role again. And I will buy the shit out of any merchandise that may come out of this.

I swear, I'm gonna start calling Nobuharu, "Carlos" from now on; It fits all too well.

The MotW this week actually seriously freaked me out. I've had problems with chronic tooth pain in the past, not to mention the all-too-classic recurring nightmares of breaking/losing teeth. :( Ick. Also just generally freaky looking. I'm yet to be impressed with any of the monster designs this year, which isn't going to make or break the season for me or anything, but I do hope we get a human-face villain at some point.

And I'm glad Toei's delivering on the promise of Black/Green as partners. It's a dynamic that has been so well established in the past (Liveman and Go-Onger, plus RPM if you count Power Rangers), and I've always loved it. It's a fun switch-up to have Souji be the more 'serious' of the two, historically that role falls to the Black.

You guys got to remember they want all the Kyouryuugers past or present to be of a different ethnic background. I feel like they are punishing us for PR:Samurai and PR:Jungle Fury. Since Rameriez was an Ancient Kyouryuuger he gets to be his own ethnic character.

Next Episode Spoiler:
Spoiler
It seems like he is meant to be either Spanish and that's why they are sort of grouping him with Amy in the next episode. I'm sensing some sort of Gekiranger thing where each Kyouryuuger gets an Ancient Sempai that they bond with and they get to use the power of their ZyuDenRyuu. Just like how each Gekiranger had their own Master and was able to use the Master's Gekibeast.

I'm loving the end of episode teasers. Great story telling with each one and it makes each episode not feel like a filler. Also Gordo is pretty badass I hope since he is a spirit that continues fighting on he shows up time to time in future episodes.

Maybe Ramirez is actually a Scotsman pretending to be an alien pretending to be an Egyptian pretending to be a Spaniard pretending to be an ancient Kyouryuuger.

Yeah, Souji is pretty much cemented as my favorite. He’s prone to his not-that-unreasonable hissy fits, but is pretty quick to acknowledge when he is being unreasonable. Considering he's supposed to be the baby of the team, that's pretty mature. Him having to step in and do part of Black’s roll call so that they can keep going was one of favorite moments of the episode.

I must have a thing for green this year, because I think Luckyuro is my favorite of the villains. Poor thing could not catch a break this episode, and he seems a bit more savvy than his boss. Speaking of which, Candelira is pretty weird. She really just wants to make people happy? That’s a switch from typical villain tactics.

...where did that device that Ian was using all episode come from?

Come back!

What device? The thing that looks like a dinosaur laptop? I bet it doubles as a battery carrier.

I think Souji and Ian are pretty good candidates for being interesting characters. They're both pretty hard-headed and flawed in their own ways, but that will probably make for a more interesting character arc.

Daigo, Amy, and Nobu are all way positive to provide much conflict. Daigo and Amy will generally be super positive and Nobu will probably be amicable enough to go along with a group decision, that's probably why these three joined up before the other two. I'm not saying these are bad traits, but one of the fun things in watching a sentai is seeing what the group dynamics are. If everyone gets along and there's no room for divisiveness, it's not generally going to be very interesting.

You mean the communicator-thing, right? I wondered the same thing at first, but you can see during the scene when he calls the cockpit to inform Daigo that they're boarding - It's the front buckle of their belts.

Batissier must have learned how to bake a cake from this. It would explain his violent mood swings.

The writing seems to be developing King into a leader that doubles as a therapist for the team's interpersonal problems.

I'm surprised that the team was so nonchalant when Ramirez explained what a spirit was. The implications behind it are a little bit frightening. Does this mean their souls will never rest in peace? This also brings new meaning to the ZyuDenChi. The dinosaur spirits that charge the ZyuDenChi could be seen as ghosts seeking revenge against the Deboss Army.

King's really at his best when he's rallying people together, which kind of explains why episode 1 wasn't good since it was just him running into the other rangers for the first time.

By the way, Denchi doesn't need to have the chi part capitalized. As one word it means "Battery".

Yes, young warriors, prepare for an eternity of fighting, a fate that you will not escape even after death!

I wonder if the Deboss that has control of Ankydon also made Batisser into the cavity monster or could just be all of Candelira's monsters will just become like that.

Hmmm, come to think about it, this sets up a very weird premise. Why did they set up Kyouryuugers 500 years ago? I thought the Deboss Army hadn't been around since they killed off the dinosaurs in the ice age?

Wouldn't it make more sense to have a background where humans and dinosaurs coexisted at the same time? Then Ramirez could be like some ancient warrior, revived from millions of years ago.
