Wonder will Kaito be a villain long enough to fight Kouta in one final battle, and then live long enough to realise the error of his ways and die a hero pretty much like Kiba did towards Faiz' s finale.

There is really no "error" in Kaito's ways though. This is what he's always wanted since the very beginning, I'm not sure if there's anything for him to realise,

Maybe error is too strong of a word, however, the entire series up till now is playing mockery on Kaito's good and kind natures suppressed by his hatred for Yggdrassil, and the circumstances that occur after the city was taken over by the corporation justifies his current view of the world and set in motion his quest for power.

In short, the "realising" part is where he realises having more power doesn't solve everything.

Also, this was a great climactic episode. So Baron is the Big Bad after all? (or maybe it's not that simple)
