PPGZ English Dub

Post by That Guy » Thu May 29, 2008 10:36 am

If any of you were looking forward to a decent adaptation o fthis series for English-speaking audiences, congratulations, I'm here to dash those hopes. Even though it's done by the Ocean Group, it might as well have been 4Kids for all the effort they put into it. Here's at least hoping for uncut, unedited DVDs.

ANY English dub is better than NO English dub!

I read on Wikipedia that 4Kids was originally to get this for USA viewing, but the deal fell through.

I just wish I could find compleat episodes instead of the clips on YouTube...

- -; ... I'm, at least hoping they're thinking which voices would actually work with the new version instead of just getting all the old voice actors together again (original PPG voice actors I mean).

I respectfully disagree, there's some good dubs out there. *waits for the stones*

*Thinks for a bit* Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Ghost in the Shell... hmm FLCL I guess yeah, that can count as "some" I guess.

I'm just saying most dubs are bad, because they kind of are. Either it's bad translation or bad acting

People are just better off watching the subs. I kind of think people only watch dubs because they're resistant to watching a show in a foreign language, which really isn't a good reason if all they're doing is "enduring" a bad dubbing

I personally enjoy watching dubs just to see how they're handled, and because I find it easier to rewatch a show that way than trying to find a chance to watch the subs. IDK why, I guess I'm just lazy like that. It was a monumental effort for me to marathon rewatch Bleach up to the Bount arc earlier this summer, for example, even though I didn't have anything especially better to do.
