Ratings Poll: Shougeki Gouraigan
What a disappointing series, considering the DNA that went into it. Just a 1. Nothing but dirty fan service. Waste of potential. Inoue really needs to be put on a leash.

Re: Ratings Poll: Shougeki Gouraigan
I kinda enjoyed it really. It was a nice comedy and parody series, meant to be wild and crazy. It wasn't top quality as a story, but still okayish. Was good as a break from normal toku.
Also, the ending theme is one of my favorite songs at the moment. Possibly in first place
Gave it 3/5.

Inoue at his worst (possibly). Did not enjoy this at all.

I know it's a comedy toku show but... too much chit chat, doin' some dumb moves, whatever.
*thumbs down* Got a disappointing 1 for this.

Started out interesting but quickly realized it didn't have a plot and ended up just shoving tits in our faces. Never regretted working on a series so much.

I am with you. Every rational thought in my head about the series is negative, but I enjoyed it for what it was, in spite of knowing I shouldn't.xiiliea wrote:I kinda enjoyed it really. It was silly, pointless and at times just plain BAD... but the humor and fan service made it well worth the time I spent watching. I also give it a 3.5.
I kept feeling like it was an alternate reality "Adventures of Some Imagin... NOT-Momotachi, But Pretty Close".

I honestly felt that the series as a whole was beyond lack luster, the characters were flat personality wise and the story was confusing as hell plus they were banking way Way too much on fan-service bits and bad fourth wall jokes to keep them afloat, plus the last episode was just sad as all hell, seriously all that build up and for an ending that was so open ended that a bus could pass through, the only thing that I really liked was the music and a few of the character clashes yet in the end I just felt like the series was missing a LOT and had thrown out a lot of potential for the sake of slapstick

I'm sorry to hear that not everyone enjoyed it. I actually had a great laugh with each episode. And yes, gratuitous nudity is always a cool thing. But as I said, it was a great for laughs and to me, it delivered. The Super Sentai-inspired episode was my favorite.

I don't mind nudity, but it's got to work in the show. Like it's usually well done in Garo.
Ignoring that, the show has no story or interesting characters or even things that make sense. It just leaves you with a feeling of "What was the point of it all?"

If I wanted pointless nudity, I'd watch porn.

Re: Ratings Poll: Shougeki Gouraigan
Even though I already completed downloading the series, I don't have the drive to watch the show. Yeah, there's nudity of some sort on the show but the story for me kind of sucks. I could not get the idea that when they are fighting, they are being transferred to a different dimension of some sort. It seems that Inoue san had encounter some writer's block on this series. 2 out of 5 for me

And I in turn have never been sorry before for being a viewer, and in turn creating the demand for you guys to work on something. As bad as it was to watch, I can't even begin to imagine how painful it was to translate something with so little value.Lunagel wrote:Started out interesting but quickly realized it didn't have a plot and ended up just shoving tits in our faces. But kudos to you guys on not stopping early? I think a lesser team would have stopped by episode 6 or so...

Unfortunately we don't have the good sense to do things like that. Too stubborn! Haha.

Re: Ratings Poll: Shougeki Gouraigan
I liked it for what it was, and almost saw it as a miniseries or half a main series so if it was longer it would basically be the filler or build up episodes getting ready for the main story arc so had it continued it could of been good.
I enjoyed it more than many episodes or more popular franchises like sentai which have some good, some bad and some ok episodes spread out so it was far better than the bad and at least as good as the ok episodes of other series just not as good as the best ones.

Re: Ratings Poll: Shougeki Gouraigan
A 1 without doubt. Such a waste of Amemiya's designs: the battles, costumes and overall "graphic" style was really awesome but it was like watching an artbook in which, after some great artworks, you'll have to go through a bunch of dull "glamour shots" of the actors to get to the next art page. It had its funny moments, yes, but felt really cobbled together and not really well thought. I many ways, it really reminded me of Lion Maru G, but with a superior budget. The story.... there was a story?
