If you would have told me that the guest star was GekiChopper I would have never believed you. I realize it's been 7 years, but still, he looks nothing like his past character. Which is very unlike what has happened in the past.
In terms of writing I thought this episode was a mess. Until Merisusa pointed out what the message of the story was I was completely lost. Even with that information this episode still doesn't feel like it has a proper conclusion.
At least Diesel-Oh is cool. It's rather blocky, but I take that as an intentional design choice as opposed to something clearly stupid like ToQ-Oh's giant shoulders. Otherwise it's leaps and bounds above ToQ-Oh in design (and suit actor mobility, I suspect) which makes it all the more disappointing that we won't be seeing it that often. Granted you'd never be able to get away with using it as a primary robo design, but ToQ-Oh should have been more like Diesel-Oh in design, as Diesel-Oh demonstrates that the designers are capable of doing a better train robo than ToQ-Oh.
Though I am surprised that the team got a second robo this early. The closest we've ever come to this before would be what, Super DaiBouken? Edit: Just realized that the diesel train set has been in the OP since episode 1. Neat.
