Toqger 42 departing now
Wiki: http://wiki.tvnihon.com/wiki/TQG_Station_42
I knew this'd be a clip show, but it's pretty well done and has a bunch of character moments without feeling too reliant on stock footage.
One big oversight is that we don't see Glitter, since we still don't know what the lost of her mother and her lover has had on her. They're probably saving it up for a real episode though, since not many kids watch the year end episodes.
So I guess Mio knows now? Pretty cool climax to a long running subplot.
Man, the effect used to put the band in that train was terrible.
No Super Hero Time next week. See you again in the new year!

I'm actually hoping Mio and Tokacchi get together at the end of the show now cause I'm a romantic like that.

When a good chunk of your most exciting fight footage comes from the first episode, you've probably not made a very good series.
I did laugh at the guy going "oh, this isn't my song" though.

Re: Toqger 42 departing now
The concert coming out of nowhere and the cast (minus conductor) really getting into it was prolly the only time I laughed at this show so far.
I mean, like a good honest laugh. Too bad it didn't end there, though.

At first, I was afraid it was going to be another "clip show" episode. I'm glad it only lasted about half of the total run time.
Also, I'm glad to see some further development between Mio and Tokacchi. Hoping to see a nice ending for the two of them.

Re: Toqger 42 departing now
I thought it was a pretty good episode, to be honest, mainly from the previously-mentioned developments between Tokacci and Mio. The conductor's face was an interesting development...but maybe they should have done something to cover up the "clip-on" ear lobes.

I'm interested into this connection that seems to be occurring between Right and Zed...

I'm wondering where you get a d sound from a t? Z, Zet, or Zett are all perfectly alright, but I think Zed is completely off the mark.

Wasn't like there some material saying that Zett's name was just the letter Z? Zed probably comes from how every other country in the world says the letter "Z".

In many languages, a t or d at the end of a word are completely indistinguishable. As both would be pronounced as a t in such situations.takenoko wrote:I'm wondering where you get a d sound from a t? Z, Zet, or Zett are all perfectly alright, but I think Zed is completely off the mark.
Anyway, properly handled romance in Sentai? What bizarro universe is this...

Kengo Ohkuchi tweeted something along the lines of "My name is Z!"..Phoenix512 wrote:Wasn't like there some material saying that Zett's name was just the letter Z?
Though, there was also a flyer that said "Zet" on it in English so... [/shrugs]
How was this properly handled? I mean, when I think proper Sentai romances, I think of Aba's Asuka/Mahoro, Carranger's Kyosuke/Zonette, etc.Barim wrote:Anyway, properly handled romance in Sentai? What bizarro universe is this...
Most of what Tokatti/Mio consisted of was the former throwing a tantrum (because... heaven forbid she might see another guy!) and then Mio later going "Aw, you do care about me!"...

According to Wikipedia, Z is pronounced "zett" in several languages.
I enjoyed the band appearing at the end. Most of the episode was boring to me though. I also thought that much of the fun imagination fighting/etc was done in the first few episodes and then forgotten (that sort of thing happens in too many series).

Re: Toqger 42 departing now
Z is also pronounced Zed in Cananda and other places, hence Lord Zedd from Power Rangers, but that's still no reason to get the Toqger's name wrong if you know the difference between t and d.
I mean, I'm more baffled about it than anything else and would just appreciate an explanation as to why people are calling him Zed/Zedd. Like even if you thought his name was Z, the pronunciation isn't Zeddo in Japanese.

Re: Toqger 42 departing now
I know a certain other fansub group is calling him "Zed", which might have something to do with why people are using it. Where they got the D from, though, I have no idea.
