I don't think having KR Chaser having the exact color scheme as Mashin Chaser is a good idea. It would defeat the idea of him trying to break away from the Mashin Chaser persona. I really like the design of KR Chaser myself. Also I think Chase will make things interesting with his Roidmude origins as he tries to protect humans from Roidmude once again.

I don't mean the exact same though. The black can be omitted, and use mostly purple with silver accents.

Or even have something harking back to the fact that he was once Proto-Drive.

Agreed to an extent. I get where they're trying to go - a white rider to represent his new-found purity - but it's just too much white. Especially when you already have white Mach.

It's pretty funny that the Minister of Defense is Roidmude 001. His name is even a clue 真影, it means "true shadow" and the whole episode talks about the way he's in the shadows, manipulating the story from the background.

Chase's entrance is outstanding.

Also, his belt doesn't match the rest of his aesthetics, since it's just the Mach Driver renamed. The least you could have done is repaint it purple. I know Bandai loves that sort of thing. Do it! Sell the same thing to kids twice!

I was thinking of the exact same thing about his Driver. I would've went perfectly if it was purple, hell even silver. Other than that I'm satisfied with everything regarding Chase's transformation. It's about time.

I think Go is about to go to a dark place. He was already upset that he was falling behind Drive. Now Chase is a Rider using his SAME driver and seems to be stronger. He hates Chase.
I doubt this means anything but when Heart showed up at the end and Go was walking toward the group I thought that was an interesting shot. Maybe it means something. Maybe he'd team up with Heart if it meant he could get rid of Chase. Who knows? Things could get interesting.

I like Chaser's look; it's sleek, streamlined and snazzy. Only complaint is the belt. Could have made a new design, or at least recolored the Mach Driver. But that's a minor thing. Don't have anything to base it on (it's just a hypothesis), but I recall last year that Baron got a Genesis Driver/Lemon Energy LockSeed upgrade as a last-minute decision by the writers due to his unexpected popularity, and the outfit itself didn't get a very warm reception. Could the same thing have happened here - Chase got more popular than they imagined and they hastily rewrote the show to make him more prominent, hence the recycled Driver prop? (Again, just a hypothesis.)

I'd be inclined to think not, if only because of how much more Kamen Rider Chaser has going on in terms of new merchandise, compared to Baron Lemon Energy Arms. He's got a new suit, and by extension a new action figure (as opposed to Baron just borrowing parts from Duke, which the old toys could already do), a new Signal Bike (as opposed Baron just using the same Lockseed as Duke), and a new weapon (as opposed to Baron just using a Sonic Arrow like everyone else with an Energy Lockseed). Bandai typically plans stuff like that out well in advance.

Finally, is it me or does it seem like the show has undergone a significant tonal shift since Formula? We're on a new arc of course, but it's more than that. The plot is moving for several episodes in a row, Shinnosuke suddenly has a father to worry about, the Riders are no longer a secret, etc. I've really liked these most recent episodes (except perhaps the end of the last March 2-parter), so in the back of my mind I'm wondering if perhaps this is an intentional soft reboot of the series. This seems bigger than just a new arc.

I agree with you. When Heart called out to Shinnosuke, "Do you really want to do this now?" I thought Shinnosuke might as well have replied "Yes I'm tired of filler episodes, let's DO THIS!" It pretty much encapsulates the show really getting into gear - and it's been well overdue for that.

Kamen Rider Drive started on a slow pace, now in the 26th Episode we see Kamen Rider Chaser in a fashionable debut!
Chaser is probable a Human Roidmude type that was helping Krim Steinbelt to fight the Roidmude attack in the Global Freeze event, defeated by Heart and reprogrammed to harm humans.
However, the character has become likeable, in my humble opinion, that's why the producers have not eliminated him, after all it was obvious that Chase were about to be redeemed for good cause.
The question mark in this episode is: Shinnosuke Father was killed by one of the Roidmudes and also used as a template? lets wait for the coming episodes to shed a light so we can see what happened.
Chaser Weapon, the Shingou-Ax is a very clever Pedestrian Crossing Light, is time the producers come with fresh ideas about Motor Cars related concepts.
